I have always thought of the generation or generations explaination as just mockery. Like there is some kind of demonic force telling individual dubs " see, you are literally some of the dumbest mofos on the planet. "

Anointed Delusions of Grandeur
by Kohanic inso here is something i've been wondering about.
how do the 'anointed' come to the conclusion that they are chosen?
is it some weird collective delusion of grandeur and how is it manifested in such ones?.

The more i study the bible and especially the new testament, I don't think any sincere student of the bible can possibly accept all these dubious connections to the book of revelations.
JW theology is basically a belief the entire new testament and Jesus dying on the cross was essentially just for anointed Christians.
You are saved though your works and association.
Weird people would basically believe they are your ticket.

Local elder dies of starvation
by Steel inwell , not really.. our hall recently had a secret collection for our head elder who is almost on the verge of becoming homeless.
i guess he lost some cleaning contracts because his clients were just sick of his no shows because of his pioneer work.
there is always something more important to do than earn a living.. this is the same assholes he is always shaming people to not doing enough.

I hope my wife doesn't give this clown a cent.

Birthdays are Evil - so they said
by EverApostate inlast week i celebrated my birthday.
accepted well wishes from people near and far.
had been happily accepting wishes from people since i quit the cult.. as a jw, (brainwashed ) belief that birthdays are evil was the stupidest belief i had in all my life.. when in, i had a hard time to explain to people that i don’t celebrate birthdays.

Hitler liked cheeseburgers
Stalin liked cheeseburgers
Cheeseburgers are evil.
The 1 plus 1 equals 3 mentality in the Borg is just ridiculous.

Annoying jws
by Jrjw ina 'concerned' jw in my congregation rang me earlier and said she's noticed my daughter sits miserable at the meetings and said she's a right miserable girl in general.
i said she's happy and hyper when she's not at the meetings they're just really boring and she doesn't want to be there.
apparently i'm a bad parent coz she feels that way.

Tell her Wal-Mart now sells vibrators, out in the open. No need to visit some slimey sex shop.
Maybe that will get her to loosen up.

JW Stumper Questions - List You Best Here
by pale.emperor inhi guys.
sooner or later we're going to get a jw knocking on our door.
just like when we were jw's doing the knocking, it's good to have a question prepared to get them thinking about their own beliefs.

Ask them to read the book of Romans and ask what parts apply to the heavenly hopers and what parts apply to those with an earthly hope.
Actually the entire new testament.

Are You Sure I shouldn't read that Apostate Literature?
by zophar infrom the time i was a young pioneer, i wondered why jw’s could not accept when a householder offered to exchange literature with us /me.
i just couldn’t picture jesus being afraid of what another might argue.
obviously, paul was familiar with other religions.

Stupid question?
Is apostate literature considered just anti wts stuff or just any Christian literature that isn't published by the Borg.

Sorry, never a JW here. Just married to one.
My real WTF moment was researching that blood nonsense when my wife was pregnant and seeing watchtower documents citing planned parenthood rulings about women's rights overuling fetal rights.
I always knew they were anti Christian to a certain point but making an alliance with baby killing assholes was just too much.

New round of elders and MS schools going on, anyone have a inside scoop on any of the info being shared there?
by optimisticskeptic inconfidential items are of most interest of course, just curious what they're talking about there in general and what are the newest things everyone is being warned about, etc.

When I met a Jehovah witness at the door that seems to be an elder , I always ask him two questions.
Which new testament book is the basic blueprint for modern day Christian theology. ( romans)
Which new testament gossip is not considered a synopic gossip ( john).
It's just blows them away. but but but did you know god has a name and he wants you to use it blah blah blah.

Have you ever thought what the primary teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses is?
by Half banana init is not “preach the good news” nor is it “believe in jesus and get saved” neither is it “believe in the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses and get saved” although in practice they do teach this.
no, everything they claim depends on a belief in another doctrine which logic decrees cannot be found in the bible.
the leadership of jehovah’s witnesses put absolute faith in a protestant doctrine which is given a latin name, sola scriptura, meaning “by scripture alone”.. good evidence of the governing body believing in the primacy of this doctrine was when being questioned by the australian royal commission, they resorted to the ‘authority’ of scripture to defend their stance on having “two witnesses” when they are investigating child abuse cases.throughout the hearing they paraded their naive trust in the bible as the highest possible authority proudly ignoring the fact that most people regard it as having been superseded by modern scientific evaluations of what is true.. .

I am no bible expert but it seems to me the new testament seems to have two major themes.
1. The transfer of blessings and promises from the Jewish people to the church or body of Christ.
2. Becoming the new creature or person in Christ.
Neither of these apply to a Jehovah witness. It all seems quite bizarre. The whole saved though association to the governing body and the organization.
I wonder if the average dub really understands this?
