Of course I'll win. And BTW Will, no I didn't eat it all myself, I do have friends in the world besides yourself, eh. You and yours are only the best of them.

Cheers All,
Gotta relate how my day's going. Woke up this morning and over coffee i decided I'd do a load of laundry(wich I only do half of it, half as often I should do it all). Anyway I decided to dig near the bottom of my pile to this pair of jeans I haven't worn in months. So i'm in the laundromat checkling the pockets for snotrags and such... what do I find... $60!
Anyway to celebrate my windfall (cuz I didn't win 649 last night) i spent it all on the ingredients for chili and...what else...BEER.
Cheers All, and I probably make the best chili of all the posters on this board, including you awl Texans.

JWs are "wise" and everyone else is "dumb" - no wonder they're arrogant...
by somebodylovesme ini'm bored, so i thought i'd post.
i just remembered a part of a talk from a meeting i went to a couple months ago (to appease the family).
i can't remember what verse, but it was talking about how christians were the "wise" ones.

SLM,
I've always hated the smug, we know something you don't know attitude, that I receive when I'm at a gathering with a bunch of witnesses. I just have to grin and bear it when i attend these gatherings. It took me a long time to figure out the difference between wisdom and intelligence;
intelligence tells you it's raining outside, wisdom tells you to take an umbrella.
The problem with these smug ones is they think it's always raining. My problem is I like the rain and hate umbrellas.
Whats my point here? i don't really know maybe you can figure it out for me.

Who's the Savior?
by JH in.
i was reading the list of things witnesses can't do, on another thread, and i noticed that it was written that jw's don't have jesus as savior.. as a witness, i always said that jesus was my savior, thanks to jehovah.. maybe it's been too long ago and i forgot, but who is the savior for jehovah witnesses?
jesus or jehovah or both?

Lurkers! Is the WTS a Tax Cheat and Deadbeat?
by metatron ini have not seen any announcement from the watchtower stating that they have settled their tax liability with.
the nation of france.
they went thru the courts there - and lost.

Thanks for posting this Lady Lee. I wasn't aware that the witnesses were the third largest Christian religion in France.
Looking at the figures for the assessment, they don't quite add up to me though. A 4 year assesment of $50,000,000 at 60% means the gross donations were $83,333,333. With a donating base of 200,000 parishioners this works out to $415 per witness over 4 years, or a little over $100 per witness per year. This incredibly low figure either means French witnesses are real tightwads, or the french head office is not claiming all the donations received.

JESUS GOT OFF LIGHT!!!!!!
by avishai inlately, with all the talk about mel gibsons new movie, etc., it got me to thinking.
here you have people that suffer for their whole lives.
with cerebral palsy, constant pain, watching their entire families get gunned down.. here is the deal.

And to top that all off he had knowlage of what lay ahead of him after death with certainty.
This is the part of Jesus 'sacrifice' that always bothered me. For someone with a lifespan as long as his, his suffering was very shortterm. It was also unneccessary, something imposed by a sadistic father following some system of rules only he can understand.
Frankly I see more sacrifice in the fireman entering the burning building, the person pushing the child out of the way of the oncoming truck... these people don't know what tommorrow holds for them.
