Do You Think Jehovah's Witnesses Are Typically Ignorant People?

i think most witnesses are simple minded.many are ignorant.

there are a lot of basically "good people "in the religion but i believe many are kind of dumb, including many elders.

do you agree with my thoughts??

Hi,

They are just like any religious person...they feel because they can quote scriptures they are intelligent...that's because they like to dumb down to look pious, I'm such a Christian, I don't know about certain things but I know my bible....that's the mind-set....just like what's going on now...they feel something is up, something is going to happen, & they think they know....wonder what witnesses thought during, other turbulent times, like Depression, civil unrest etc...

The Ignorance is just game....to show they are not of the world...one time I said to a sister...AKA: she didn't know what that meant, but she knows how to rack up points for coffee and how to get free stuff...

Many at my hall, have been to college and they are professionals...they give intelligent comments, but they don't apply it...many think because they give good comments that they are spiritually strong and they are a dedicated witness in good standing...NOT....they are just good students...how many students in school were smart but class clown or were bullies but smart....good comments mean nothing...

Some witnesses never went to school so what they learn from the org. makes them seem educated...sometimes the more ignorant a person is the more arrogant they are...

Again, don't believe the hype, witnesses are smarter than they let on....

Many people do lose site of what's really important when it comes to money and higher education...some people are professional students, never graduate and when they do, they go back to school to avoid the real world...that's what the org. is somewhat talking about...don't get too smart or too rich to forget about Jehovah...

Have you noticed this trend on social media amongst witnesses...?

it seems that every 2nd witness often posts pictures of themselves at conventions, or out in 'service'.

but i have noticed that they never seem to post anything about the actual "spiritual content" of their activity!

instead, it is pictures of them with their witness "friends", along with some contrite comment like #bestlifeever (arrghhh).

Because they are molded by this system of things....They mirror all the things that so called worldly folks do...what the heck is a worldly person...one who travels...lol....we are all worldly because we are a part of the world...some of us whether witnesses or not, do not buy into what the world has to offer...anyway...The witnesses do whatever everyone else does...

Notice at most jobs, folks eat all day long...drink water all day, coffee, snacks etc...all day...ever notice witnesses, they always up to eating especially if its for free...witnesses are people first, except they don't think so, until you call them on a imperfection, then they say they are only human, other than that, they are a cut above the rest of mankind...they are witnesses...God's chosen...NOT...

So as time goes along, you will notice changes...why, because the young ones are coming and they going to put a whole new spin on the org...

Has anyone else recently been contacted by a once close JW friend or relative? Could this be a new JW tactic?

hmmmm...yesterday my long life friend called my landline after many years of silence.

now the shock has subsided, i am wondering if i can forgive and forget the fact she chose not to keep in touch throughout a time in my life which was very stressful.

sadly, i gathered that she is still involved with jehovah’s witness faith.

I hope so too...everyone needs a safe place to vent...Many will wake up....trust me...there is a certain vibe in the hall lately....can't say what it is...but it's a feeling...I think most are just going through the motions...They have been there for so long...why change now...they have their social life all tied up in the org....

Many want to leave but can't for whatever reasons...maybe one day the org. should have a window of opportunity...tell folks they can leave now with no repercussions and no announcement...

That would be huge...

Watchtower's unscriptual boasting about works

nothing big here, just a little musing on this scripture at ephesians 2.8-9 that definately states that only faith saves, not works, in case men start to boast about their amazing works.

"8for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of god, 9not of works, that no one would boast.

well my word, i would definately say witnesses *do nothing but boast*, especially now on jw broadcast.

Hi All,

I live in NYC....lately, I've been taking the bus to work...The Bus travels down 5th Avenue...From Central Park all the way downtown to 23rd street....homeless...everywhere...sleeping ON THE BENCHES OUTSIDE OF CENTRAL PARK in the doorways of Fendi, Louis Vitton and ON THE STEPS OF CHURCHES....they are saying...so you won't help the homeless...we'll just be an eye sore...

So all that to say...how many homeless do you think will sleep or beg in front of a kingdom hall...well, first of all most of them have a gate around the bldg. so the homeless can only be outside the gate...don't think the homeless would hang out in front of a kingdom hall...because it's well known....witnesses don't help nobody...

Imagine, it's common knowledge among the homeless...sure our works...they forgot that God gave his son for our sins....it's a gift...and you can't work for it...that's why God says it's faith...works are a result of changing to be a better person...doesn't mean you have to kill yourself for God in the ministry or whatever you think you have to do to earn the sacrifice...Witnesses can't change that's why they work so hard...they only have faith when things are good...oh Jehovah is so good, but let something happen, well, we know Satan is in charge of this system...blah blah...

THE ORG IS IT'S OWN BEST CUSTOMER....

Hi All,

Witnesses are calling folks who were once in the truth or not in the truth...they need to vent...many are starting to see the lies and deceit..but they can't trust any active witness so just they contact those who they think are safe...they first feel you out by asking if you went to the assembly, etc, that's to flush out if you are still drinking the kool-aide...I say as time goes along, many of us will be contacted by those who are still in but can't talk to anyone...

Just think the very people they turned their backs on, now these same people they turn to ...amazing...

The "Jesus is Michael" teaching soon to go?

could the teaching that jesus is michael the archangel, be soon to be discarded?

first of all, watchtower is big on image and this is one of those teachings that paint the jw religion as being rather kooky and heretical.

secondly, this teaching is not an original watchtower teaching but one they inherited from their second adventist ancestry.

They won't tell us...they'll put it in the public WT "Questions from Readers"...that's where some of the subliminal changes appear...That's where they the mentioned that they mentioned dates of the end but....then in another public they mentioned...we can clap for a re-instated DF'd ones....My question is....where in the bible does it say that...not to clap or too clap...their reasoning (& mine too, don't mean to boast but I thought of it before it was published)....I do that to answer the friends...I answer them only in scripture...so the scripture they used to support clapping for re-instated ones, was even the angels clap when one comes back to God....

Whatever they say...someone is going to quote Hebs. where is says...to which angel did God say you are my son....don't worry, a reader will point it out to them....and maybe they'll drop it...but they don't mention is much...they only mention it just to sound smarter than other Christians...you know witnesses think if they can quote scripture they are more intelligent...but if one knows the scriptures as well, you can quote too...make them see some scriptures that the org. just glosses over...

it's my understanding that the gb took out the text about the adulterous woman at mark 7:53 - 8:11, (this the all important verses where jesus says the one with out sin cast the first stone.

) sighting that it wasn't found in the oldest text.

Hi,

Nobody wants these verses in the bible...but it shows the true nature of Jesus...he didn't judge her so we aren't supposed to either...Jesus don't look at adultery like humans do....he doesn't judge...that account is for all people everywhere...it's not our job to judge....that's the moral of the story...

Even if it shouldn't be there, it should be in the bible...

It was taken out because of clergy and THE ORG/ those who judge....because it's more to the average person's advantage than it is for GB's, Elders, Pope, etc....

If you get brought in to be DF'd or excommunicated...you can use their old bible with that account in it...and slap it on the desk tell them...read this...then bounce. You may get DF'd anyway, but you planted a seed...

JWs biggest problem is not doctrinal issues

it's biggest problems are associated with its lack of genuine love and concern for the rank& file.

the average person doesn't need a food critic to tell them their hamburger is shit, in the same manner the average person can discern kindness and love.

gbs fake love and concern is evident in the way head office deals with victims of sexual abuse by jw clergy.

NO LOVE...maybe because some didn't come from Loving homes...so how would they know how to love if one doesn't come from that environment....you can't give something you never had or got...maybe some come from a home that only loves conditionally....that can be anyone's home...everyone does not come from a loving home where they were loved and nurtured...

Why don't witnesses see The Truth ....why, because they are in the in-crowd, but if you experience what others are saying...then they see it....there is a saying ....It's the thief that screams the loudest.....Witnesses don't see the truth until their toes are stepped on....

Many know of all the craziness going on in the org...it's on the internet and everywhere...& witnesses stay on the internet...always sending videos and feel good texts...most are losing hope but won't show it so they are immersing themselves...scared...because it may not be the last days...

The org. is a social club for social misfits...they are afraid of the real world so they much rather be around folks that don't love instead of taking their chances and hang out with other people who aren't witnesses...it's called being balanced...

I'm fortunate and came from a loving and supporting home...so when I got to the hall...I saw...they have no love in them...it's all a put on...

Genesis chapter one can make your life meaningful and joyful

literal reading of genesis chapter one brings no benefit because you would see god as speaking to fishes and birds (genesis 1:22) which we know is not possible.

however, with “a king’s mind” if one looks for the implied truth behind its literary allusions it may bring immense benefit.

Now check this out...Then God commanded, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate day from night and to show the time when days, years, and religious festivals[c] begin; 15 they will shine in the sky to give light to the earth”—and it was done. 16 So God made the two larger lights, the sun to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night; he also made the stars. 17 He placed the lights in the sky to shine on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God was pleased with what he saw. 19 Evening passed and morning came—that was the fourth day.

So, there was day and night before there was the sun and the moon....so God is light all by himself...he made the sun and moon for us...

Maybe God created everything and we are here to discover what he created...it's mind boggling...I think it's difficult to believe in God because when we ask for something, we want it right away...we don't want no pain, we don't want to wait for anything, we want life our way, yet, we get angry with our children when they act that way....but we say there ain't no God, so when children don't get their way, what's that...There ain't no such thing as parents...

The bible has a lot stories....basically it's to show get along with one another and not to judge....all that other stuff is just stories...

Why did Jesus not use God’s name Jehovah?

no one doubts jesus extensively spoke about god’s kingdom because he said: “i must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of god to the other towns also, because that is why i was sent.” (luke 4:43) yet christian sects are divided over the subject whether jesus used god’s name or not.. it is said that god’s name jehovah was revealed to moses.

however jesus knew moses was not trustworthy.

(mathew 19:8) moses born and brought up in egypt could have been influenced by egyptian knowledge.

Because it's disrespectful to call your parents by their first name......well, my parents wouldn't but I do know folks that call their parents by their first names..guess they glad the kids call them at all...

Jesus called his Pop....Our Father who ....ummm...our Father, could that be proof that there is no Trinity....Jesus uses US a lot in that prayer...makes one think...
