It sounds like your husband is a psychopath, and I fear for your future, and that of your children, but hopefully, maybe, people at your place of work may come to understand your situation and perhaps be able to give a level of support.

Your neighbours also, might be alerted to the fact this man may cause you physical harm, and be ready to help?

In the meantime, are there any local charities that help persons in your situation, that you could reach out to?

I find it hard to trust people after leaving JW’s, but I know there are many out there who would help if they knew your situation.

Since I live in the U.K. I am personally of no use to you at all, (aged, sick and impoverished, wouldn’t you know it?) - but I wish you every good thing and every blessing you and your kids deserve. ❤️

Has anyone seen that film ‘Stepford Wives’?

I get the impression that’s what the GB are aiming for, women with a quiet and mild spirit, aka total servitude, with a smile!

No wonder so many JW women have breakdowns, and psychosomatic illnesses, they are not robots.

True, God fearing women have to have a balance of compassion with a forthright spirit, but they also have to know when to button their lip and tow the line in the male dominated environment.

200 years ago perhaps that was the norm in society, but nowadays, it’s difficult to accomplish, especially if husbands, elders or not, have also been brought up on unrealistic expectations of others and themselves.

The stress factors must be enormous for some, knowing they will be judged by everyone else on their personal performance and success levels, which have been set by a corporate headship of a few men in a privileged position, who have no idea of what the pawns at bottom of the pile have to wake up to every morning.

Offering platitudes such as ‘make sure you eat properly, get enough rest, are doing all your personal study, getting to all meetings, etc etc does not cut it!

you imply, however, that I want to force family members to like each other? - and to talk to each other?

Force, - force family members to actually like each other, - talk to each other,??

Are we not talking about minors here?

Just what are you getting at?

I believe parents should love their children, like them, even if they have developing viewpoints they may not like. Children often experiment with alternate points of view, only to discard them later?

By the way, should not the prodigal son now be depicted as a minor, not as a young man? (According to JWs at least?)

Is it totally inconceivable, to a Jehovah’s Witnesses that is, - that anyone, absolutely

anyone, could ever be a

- happy, - morally upright, - well-adjusted, - honest-hearted, - caring,

- intelligent, - mentally healthy, - emotionally healthy, - hard working, - responsible,

- decent, - law abiding, - useful member of the human race,

unless, - unless, they are also a Jehovah’s Witness?

Is it also inconceivable to any or all Jehovah’s Witnesses that any moral decency or any desirable human trait exists outside of the organisation calling itself Jehovah’s Witnesses?

I could go on but further words fail me presently.

Shunning and persecution

but if a mennonite gal is shunned by her parents and friends for converting to jwism, would this be seen as a loving provision or as evidence of persecution?

how about parents beating a daughter who converted to jehovah's witnesses?.
