They'll sell Kingdom Halls and create MegaHalls and consolidate congregations, like a Megachurch, using Assembly halls.

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

I never bring it up, of course most of my friends know that I was a JW. But I normally don't bring it up with new friends I may make. It's not important. Although I defend them, if the subject comes up and I find people speaking falsehoods. I'm "friends" with a few ex-JWs on Facebook, and sometimes I can't believe the BS I hear them spew about the Witnesses. I'm like "where did you get that from?" or "Do you have proof?" "Give me a reference." I mean the Society has enough skeletons in their closets, you don't have to make things up!

Several years ago my family and I were away on a long weekend. We decided to go out for breakfast, I don't remember what state we were in, but I believe it was Mother's Day, so the everybody came out of church and went out for breakfast or brunch. We waited outside for a while, then we finally got seated. We sat there for 45 minutes. The waitress was taking orders and serving patrons who came after us. She finally took our order and we sat there another 30 minutes or so. Finally saw the waitress coming out with 4 plates on her arms, and as she was backing out the kitchen door, I told everyone let's go, and we got up and left. I could see her from outside standing by our booth holding the plates looking around confused. Racist, serving every white person on the restaurant but us.

Did you encounter any dishonest/shady business owners inside your local Kingdom Hall?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | december 2021.
7 a merchant might take pride in the fact that he had never taken anything that did not belong to him.
but what about his business practices?

Pioneer and elders wife would buy field service supplies and sell them to members of the congregation at profit. She could've easily just told them where to go get them.

The "Regular Pioneer" title has now become a total joke
by pistolpete inwe just had our co visit a few weeks ago.
apparently, he was encouraging all who could to regular pioneer, to at least try it out for a year.
because of this, we had a few people in our hall become one.. so this weekend we were on zoom service, and the sister that was just appointed was talking about it.

Anyone remembers a group of JW's working outside of the JWs called TWMC (Two Witnesses Must Come). They had a presence on the Net in the 1990s, using various forums. They published THE REPORT. Apparently they believed they were of the anointed and had much to say about the Society's leadership and their beliefs. They just seemed to disappear. Anyways I found my copy of THE REPORT, published out of Brandon, FL in 1994. Was wondering if anyone had any further info on them?
Thanks,

I'll tell you a story. Back in the early 80s, there was a letter read from the Society. It basically stated, that with all the new Bethels being build around the world, they were in need of older literature to stock their libraries. It was asked that any books pre 1960s be packed up and sent to the Society, particularly Russell and Rutherford era literature. At the time I lived in the Bronx, and we had several Bethelites. Our Hall was the first Hall built in NYC, it even had a baptismal pool in the basement (no longer in use). That Sunday, the library was packed and hauled off to Brooklyn. We had a lot of old books dating back to Russell. I was later told by Randall Watters that the Society had a bonfire with them.
