  About 85-90% of the people at my place of work (of about 500 people) are fully vaccinated from Covid-19, but according to many blog posts by anti-Covid-19 vaxers they should all be dead now or in terrible health as a result of the vaccine, yet the vaccine has not caused them any harm

  Yeah, but now the ant-vax crowd will say "just wait for 2 years, then you'll see the ill effects".

  Pretty much exactly like the WTS. Armageddon is always "very soon now", and has been for well over a century.

  Let's see, you're about 50 now. I can say with near certainty that the vaccine will kill you - in about 30 or 40 years time.

  Question about Congregation accounts in ECUADOR 🇪🇨

  wondering if anyone here knows why local congregations in ecuador do not have accounts under the congregation’s name.

  i just found out they use the personal information of one of the elder’s 😳 wtf .

  what’s the legal reason for this?

  Doubt that it's theft. The WTS would come down pretty hard on someone stealing their money.

  What's more likely is that, in Ecuador, there is some tax advantage to the WTS to have the accounts in a private person's name rather than the name of the congregation.

  Just about the only thing the WTS hates more than "apostasy" is paying taxes. They will do virtually anything to avoid paying any tax whatsoever.

  i replied to a lesbian on the quora website who tried to state that god destroyed sodom because of the violent rape the people were trying to commit, not because they were homosexuals.

  her argument perperuated so often was that it stated nothing about sex between "two consenting adults".

  but, instead of using the bible scriptures such as a man shall not lay down with another as a woman, i used something else you never hear anyone use.... i told her to look to genesis 6:1-4 .

  they hope that it will be used after Armageddon.

  They always say that.

  Who's going to be running the electric power plants to supply the electricity for their fancy-dancy movie studio?

  Not to mention the 1,001 other "who's going to.... after Armageddon?" questions that are either ignored or answered with a shrugging "I'll guess we'll have to wait on Jehovah".

  Last year it was all recorded talks presented from their studio - no audience at all.

  This year, they've presented a video showing Bethelites being allowed in each others' company. So there might be a small audience for some or all of the talks. But I kind of doubt it.

  There is a post on this site, from many years ago, buried way back in the thousands or 10's or thousands of posts, that describes the GB at the time having a near apoplectic fit over that "in our twentieth century" phrase. Somehow it got past the proofreaders and into the millions of printed copies.

  And then of course, inevitably, thousands of calls and letters poured into Bethel asking if this was a promise, if there really was a hard deadline of 11 years until Armageddon's start. Of course, they had to backpedal when replying to those calls and letters. Which was of course embarrassing, hence the near-apoplectic fit.

  There's just so much stuff on this site, that thread would be virtually impossible to find now.

  when i was a kid we had a kh with a basement and this guy joe winestien lived in it.

  he has passed away i believe.

  he was about 24 and used to hang around the young boys.

  It would be quite possible to make a mistake, but my "gaydar" has returned many pings over the years.

  Including children of prominent elders. Actually, those were generally the most (apparently) obvious.
