  Return to Kingdom Hall Meetings - Letter to Elder Bodies?

  a couple of threads over on reddit that there is a letter to elders on restarting meetings.

  i find this hard to believe and have not seen anything on this from our trusty sources on this site.

  can anyone confirm?.

  Around here, the circuit assembly is scheduled for January, and the latest "official" notice gives the location as the nearest assembly hall. But I'd bet large sums of coffee beans that it just ain't happening.

  The "Regular Pioneer" title has now become a total joke

  we just had our co visit a few weeks ago.

  apparently, he was encouraging all who could to regular pioneer, to at least try it out for a year.

  because of this, we had a few people in our hall become one.. so this weekend we were on zoom service, and the sister that was just appointed was talking about it.

  What's even more totally nuts is that there is still an "enforced" requirement of 50 hours (or 30 during certain months) for auxiliary pioneering.

  So, you can be a pioneer and get 5 hours per month, but if you sign up to be an auxiliary pioneer and get 44 hour instead of 50, in theory, the elders could "get after you" (although, practically, I doubt anyone would) for not meeting your commitment.

  Yeah, I know if several people who have joined up as regular pioneers recently. I'm quite sure their schedule will not allow them to get anywhere close to 70 hours.

  It is, as has been noted on this thread here, supremely stupid. Why not just make everyone a pioneer, if there is no hour requirement? What's the bloody point?

  Why else would WT, during the 2021 AGM, address this belly-aching the rank & file are having about the Ramapo Media Center if it isn't really becoming a problem?

  Exactly.

  There are no coincidences in WT-world.

  There is also no proactivity.

  If they mention a specific, direct concern in a talk, or video, or "especially) in a Watchtower article, you can be 110% certain that they are responding to dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands, of reports from their functional KGB, the circuit overseers.

  Here's another example, from this week's Congregation "Bible" Study (Pure Worship Restored, 2018):

  More and more people today are being misled into thinking that Jehovah’s high standards are overly strict, out-of-date, or just wrong. Will you be misled? For example, if someone tries to convince you that God’s standards regarding homosexual conduct are mistaken, will you agree with him? Or will you agree with Jehovah God, whose Word clearly states that those who carry out such acts are “working what is obscene”? God warns us against approving of immoral conduct.

  Why are they coming down so hard on people who "approve of immoral conduct"? Because they've heard from their COs that JWs are weary of hating homosexuals, and JWs are neighbors to homosexuals who are more moral (true sense, not JW sense) than most JWs, and JWs go to school with homosexuals but astonishingly are not persuaded to change their own orientation, etc.

  I.e. JWs are discovering that sexual orientation does not make a person "good" or "bad", and that homosexuals can be and often are better people than even JWs.

  Can't have that! So the WTS responds with anti-homosexual vitriol and tells their followers "this is what you must believe".

  About 85-90% of the people at my place of work (of about 500 people) are fully vaccinated from Covid-19, but according to many blog posts by anti-Covid-19 vaxers they should all be dead now or in terrible health as a result of the vaccine, yet the vaccine has not caused them any harm

  Yeah, but now the ant-vax crowd will say "just wait for 2 years, then you'll see the ill effects".

  Pretty much exactly like the WTS. Armageddon is always "very soon now", and has been for well over a century.

  Let's see, you're about 50 now. I can say with near certainty that the vaccine will kill you - in about 30 or 40 years time.

  Question about Congregation accounts in ECUADOR 🇪🇨

  wondering if anyone here knows why local congregations in ecuador do not have accounts under the congregation’s name.

  i just found out they use the personal information of one of the elder’s 😳 wtf .

  what’s the legal reason for this?

  Doubt that it's theft. The WTS would come down pretty hard on someone stealing their money.

  What's more likely is that, in Ecuador, there is some tax advantage to the WTS to have the accounts in a private person's name rather than the name of the congregation.

  Just about the only thing the WTS hates more than "apostasy" is paying taxes. They will do virtually anything to avoid paying any tax whatsoever.

  i replied to a lesbian on the quora website who tried to state that god destroyed sodom because of the violent rape the people were trying to commit, not because they were homosexuals.

  her argument perperuated so often was that it stated nothing about sex between "two consenting adults".

  but, instead of using the bible scriptures such as a man shall not lay down with another as a woman, i used something else you never hear anyone use.... i told her to look to genesis 6:1-4 .

  They always say that.

  Who's going to be running the electric power plants to supply the electricity for their fancy-dancy movie studio?

  Not to mention the 1,001 other "who's going to.... after Armageddon?" questions that are either ignored or answered with a shrugging "I'll guess we'll have to wait on Jehovah".
