what is the harm or downside of being pimo?.

i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.

Definition of integrity –

The quality or state of being complete; unbroken condition; wholeness; entirety.

The quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity.

The quality of integrity is a goal that should come to permeate one’s whole being as an example for others to recognize and emulate. Jesus provided that example for us to follow. I’m not saying it’s easy, but a person who refuses to make the effort to raise himself to the level of whole sincerity and honesty, to be an example of those things in front of others and putting others before themselves, are in effect practicing the same sort of trickery as the early Pharisees, and the governing body today. The simple label of “conman” comes to mind.

I’ve heard others say that the organization is closer to “truth” than any other religious organization. No, not according to words of Christ.

Then he called his disciples and the people around him, and said to them, “If anyone wants to follow in my footsteps, he must give up all right to himself, take up his cross and follow me. The man who tries to save his life will lose it; it is the man who loses his life for my sake and the Gospel’s who will save it. What good can it do a man to gain the whole world at the price of his own soul? What can a man offer to buy back his soul once he has lost it? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this unfaithful and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in the Father’s glory with the holy angels around him.” Mark 8:34-38

Directions that don't make sense to us

So…again from the article:

Okay.

“Doing so will strengthen your resolve to cooperate with **organizational arrangements** now and in the future."

It only strengthens one's resolve to reject the doctrine of men. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

"Be sure to do everything I command you. Never add anything to it or take anything away from it". Deut 12:32

"Add nothing to His words, lest He reprove you and expose you as a fraud". Prov 30:6

I had to look at the article.

"We know from his Word and from the experiences of faithful servants that obedience saves lives. (Exod 14:1-4; 2 Chron 20:17) Meditate on such examples. Doing so will strengthen your resolve to cooperate with organizational arrangements now and in the future. "

Both of those scriptures involve God and His prophet, Moses. I hate it when they constantly compare themselves to Israel under Moses; when they admit they are not "inspired", and are not prophets. Or when convenient, they compare themselves to the apostles - usually when new "decrees" are introduced. Somehow, according to A. Morris, these decrees come down from God to the organization, and into the mouths of uninspired men...who are not prophets.

Right. None of it "makes sense"!

what do people usually think of when they buy a house?

"i will probably live here for a long time" (you're invested with your time), "i will save money by building equity over time".

(you've invested in yourself financially for the long run) of course, i wouldn't be able to list the numerous reasons why people want to buy a house.

@Hosier - I totally agree.

I understand that there is at least one GB member who has personal investment properties. These leaders are humans, we are all humans. We make our own choices, but for any humans of an organization which invests in land to build compounds that provide its leaders comfortable housing, and which has confiscated every kingdom hall deed around the world…for such leaders of an organization to tell ANYONE what a person should do about buying a home, is hypocrisy. If I didn’t have this home I live in and the space it sits on, I would not have a place of respite for young ones who have been rejected by their JW parents; who also by the way, own their homes.

I have camped in a van for long periods of time, lived in apartments, taken a hovel of a house and remodeled it along with my ministerial servant husband at the time, to provide adequate housing for our little children, and doing the same changes over the years according to job opportunities. And all the while, making sure we “put the kingdom first”, which translated into slaving for a "beast" of an organization, run by modern-day Pharisees. (Rev 13:1,2,11,12)

This good news of the kingdom

growing up around the faith, whenever i heard something taught, i'd always think there is a different way of looking at that, probably better.. we always hear "this good news of the kingdom will be preached... " matt 24:14.. so i think, is there more to it than preaching the kingdom?.

luke 17:21 the kjv and asv says "neither shall they say, lo here!

It seems pretty important to analyze the type of “worship” we practice, or practiced, as JWs.

"For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, this you tolerate very well!" 2 Cor 11:4

"Anyone who goes too far and does not remain in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds." 2 John 1:9-11

Why the King of South (USA) is in the Northern Hemisphere?

there's been a lot of talk among jws, that this is it with russia (king of the north) pushing and shoving against the (king of the south usa).

but look at the world map below on the link, and notice that usa is in the northern hemisphere.. meaning the king of the south must be none other than -----------argentina .

that's so funny that jws still can't figure it out that they are being conned to the max.

Hi pistolpete, I remembered hearing their explanation on this, in a recent video and just looked it up They say the early king of the north and south are labeled that way, because of their location from the "literal land of Israel".

Are badness, disobedience, and rebellion part of the "perfect" human nature?

when humankind will be perfect again after 1,000 years living in a paradise without being influenced by satan and demons, since "the number of these is as the sand of the sea" (revelation 20:8), a huge amount of "perfect" people, like adam and eve, will be bad, disobedient, and rebel being misled by satan once again.. does this mean that after living today surrounded by bad, disobedient, and rebel imperfect people, you will still live surrounded by bad, disobedient and rebel "perfect" people in a paradise?.

does this mean that badness, disobedience, and rebellion are part of the "perfect" human nature considering the big amount of people involved ("as the sand of the sea")?.

is it possible that we were originally created with such a strong desire and tendency to badness, disobedience, and rebellion as a result of a wise, loving, and perfect project?.

Where in the Bible does it say that each and every person that survives Armageddon will need a thousand years to reach perfection under peaceful conditions? I haven’t found it.

Jesus healed the blind, healed a woman having a flow of blood for years, fed thousands of people at one time, and raised the dead. Does it even make sense to think in a perfect Kingdom ruled by Christ, that each people will still need a thousand literal years to become “perfect”? And what does this perfection mean? Jesus died a gruesome death ,and three days later was resurrected and appeared in a perfect new body. The Wt is limiting the power of Christ, but I’m not surprised.

There is no logic in their thousand year reign of Christ occurring after Armageddon, after “Gog” attacks. And, why would Gog and Magog attack once again a thousand years later, on a now perfected people who then fail big time, because they were deceived?

People who struggled to survive in the Hebrew scriptures were faithful no matter what perils they faced. The same in the Greek scriptures. They were far from perfect. Why do JWs need to be perfect before facing a final DECEITFUL test? Rev 20:7,8 Isn’t everything about the organization, and what they expect from their members, based on visible “perfection”?

Who really is it, that is deceiving JWs now? "Gog and Magog"?

Murdered! They picked the worst of the worse reason for her husband dying. If he was murdered, why isn't she speaking with the police instead of attending a meeting? Surely the police would have asked her questions - did her husband have enemies, could she be a suspect...I suppose all of that occurred days before she attended the next meeting. Her face is radiant as she sits in the kh; beaming, as if the light of Christ is shining upon her. Not even a puffy eye from weeping.

When my husband passed away, there was no possible way I would have appeared or felt, radiant and at peace, as she appears, a short time after his death...and I still don't, a year and half later.

Yes, JW leadership is detached from reality.

We must attach neither too much nor too little importance to our love for Jesus.

How does that work? It works well through fear and ignorance. JWs are taught not to love, and taught to downplay the role of Christ. Many call him “the ransom” – true, but very sterile. I was thinking how the name “Jehovah” is used much more than “Father”. “Jehovah” is said to be a friend; a father can be a friend, but the true love between a father and a son has no limits. If Jesus and the Father are “one”, (John 10:30) and we are to honor the Son as we honor the Father, (John 5:23) wouldn’t our love for both have no bounds? JWs are to “imitate Jehovah”. I doubt God regulates how much love He has for His Son. If the leadership feels love for Christ must be bridled, kept in check, where is their scriptural proof. Their choice of John 16:27 doesn’t cut it.

“neither too much nor too little”. Right in the middle – neither hot nor cold. Tepid. Synonyms: dull, halfhearted, unenthusiastic, apathetic, disinterested…lukewarm.

I personally, would never underestimate Christ’s reaction on the matter, upon his return.

‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]. 17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need]

I counsel you to buy from Me gold that has been heated red hot and refined by fire so that you may become truly rich; and white clothes [representing righteousness] to clothe yourself so that the shame of your nakedness will not be seen; and healing salve to put on your eyes so that you may see. 19 Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].
