  My parents did not really shun me when I left but I am now breaking their hearts…

  if they have shunned me and chase me out of the house when i leave the cult, i would not give a damn.

  i can still feel their love and concern for me even now.. though i have moved out voluntarily when i joined the army, i am afraid that the life i am living now will break their hearts.

  i am now a bartender in a bar and am cohabiting with a woman.

  Would you be more lenient with a person who was forced to do something bad than a person who chooses to do bad?

  It is same with the army issue. All male citizens at 18 years of age need to join the army. Failure to do so will result in a jail sentence. My parents were duly aware of that and knows in advance I will have to join the army.

  The main problem is that I have a 180 degrees change in me before and after the army. When I DA at 15, I was still somewhat POMI. This give my parents the hope that I will return one day.

  But after I moved out, and under the bad influence from my army and the enticement of this world , my life have changed. I have become a full POMO.

  If my parents were to find out how I am living my life, they will be shocked. They will be sad and disappointed that I have no intention of returning.

  My dad should be able to take it but my mum won't. She will have her dream shattered. All because of ME!

  I have to lie to my parents that I am a technician and am living alone.

  They may have to shun me if they know how I living my life now. I would not blame them. I deserved to be shunned. I have broken their hearts.

  Please offer me some advice.

  we're you regular at the 3 meetings days watchtower hade?

  i remember our was tuesday, thursdays and saturdays.

  in reality it's crazy they hade so many meetings.

  For almost 16 years, I have no choice. I have to go with my parents. Needed to go even if I have a school exam the next day. Never regret that I D/Aed myself at 16.

  Shit! I just realised what I was feeding to my mind those 16 yrs I was in the cult. It was not what the bible say, it's what those men in the cult say.

  
  

  I think I should have read the new testament more than 10 times from matthew to..to..to don't know what name..the book b4 revelation. (I didn't touch the bible since I left the cult.) Revelation I don't read cos I don't understand.

  I think when I and other jws read the bible,we see only what agrees with what the wt say and unconscoiusly ignores what the bible really say.

  Just imagine. A 18 y.o. boy who for 16 years have been taught to live for God’s kingdom, be no part of the world and not to kill, been called up for military service and have to put on the army uniform….

  I thought I was prepared for it. But the moment when I was given my army uniform, the truth fell on me. This is the exact moment for me to decide whose side I want to be. Jehovah’s or satan’s. This is not a child play thing. This is real. I will be learning to KILL!

  I wanted to run away, I don’t want to make the decision there and then. But I need to….. I have to put on the army uniform.

  I don’t know anybody there. Nobody understand what my mind is going through. I don’t want to talk to the others. When someone wanted to talk to me, I just told him I wanted to be alone. I was being mocked at. They say I must be missing my parents.

  A few days later, I notice someone praying before taking his lunch and found out that he is from the Methodist church. YES! THAT’S IT! THAT IS THE MEDICINE I NEED!

  The Bible, even if it is true, did not forbid taking up of arms. Christians from the churches are joining the army. Why should I be guilty about it? It is only that cult that forbids its members to join the army. I am no longer a member of that cult!

  Ever since then, I am able to get along with the others. Another difficulty lying ahead which someone has warned me about is bayonet fighting. That will be in 2 or 3 weeks time. But he didn't warn me about putting on the uniform. Maybe it is because he decided to join the army while he was serving detention. At least he has spend sometime in a military environment. But for me, it was transiting from civilian life to military.

  i don't know if anyone remembers me on here but i'm here to do an update again.. well, i'm 15 going on 16 soon i still remember watching my first video on youtube and learning that all the jw teachings are false and everything that follows.

  crazy times, i have chosen to just focus on school and just trying to be a kid well a teen now but you get the point.

  i'm not really mad about all the jw stuff i've come to accept that i couldn't have done anything to prevent it i was born into a family that was already into the religion.

  Hi, Akid, nice to hear from you again. I tot you are no longer awake, your aunt put you back to sleep again. Maybe because I am already out, I see no point in reading those books you mentioned. I don't want to have anything to do with them or any other religions. I am struggling to be part of this world which I was told to be no part of for 16 yrs since I was born. I am learning to be a worldly man. Maybe I can soon write a book for you to read, titled "How to be a worldly person and enjoy life now!" Haha, that is a must read!

  For those who knows me, I am now in the army. I am doing fine, able to adapt to this world after much struggling. My dad has also d/a-ed. My mom is half awake. I do not wear my army uniform back home as she might feel uncomfortable. We still eat together, talk with each other. I am down with the common cold. It's getting better now.   How to spot awake JW at a convention

  I think that is very difficult. All awaken person at the convention has a priority to pretend.

  They will try their best to pretend.

  It sucks too love boxing and being in a JW family

  during this new year i started to love boxing and i can only really do is shadowbox which is good training, but i really want to do more.

  now you might be thinking ''why the heck would this kid take a likeing in boxing when he is in a jw family?

  ''well thats the point of this post it sucks that i cant do a sport that i like and i want to spend time doing because jw's dont let you do sports and dear god you wont be able to do something like boxing.. (i just made this because i just wanted to talk about this and some of you will understand if you wanted too do sports but you couldnt because you where a part of a jw family).

  I don't know why people give advice like the above with that article. You know it doesn't truly work that way for most kids and it will just make things worse on him

  It's not that we don't want to give advice that can work. We just dunno what advice to give. I was also raised up in a jw family, I also have missed out on many things that I love to do. I just have to live with it.

  I could only get out of it all by d/a-ing myself. Akid is too young for it. I know him quite well and I think even if he is 20, he may still not be ready to leave.

  But what advice can you give to him other than telling him to leave?I cannot advise him to leave cos I understand his family situation. So I just have to joke over it.

  I remember your family allow you to go back to school for football right? Can you just lie to them you need to go for some other games instead of telling them you go for boxing.....or is it that your family need to sign a form for boxing lesson???? Same for me, I wanted to join a uniform group when I was 14. But my parents would not sign the form for me. That causes me to start hating this religion....
