Filthy (my hubby) is originally from the East Coast. He said growing up he use to put vinegar on his french fries. Now that is yucky to me!

All my shopping has been done for about a month now.....oh, wait, there have been a few "little" things here and there, but the majority has been done. I too like to work within a "budget" and to do that means shopping pretty much all year long. Watching out for sales and bargains. I have been doing some shopping online too. Right now Bestbuy.com has FREE shipping and have even been checking out some stuff on overstock.com (they also have free shipping). I went to the mall about a month ago.......the mall is NO place for this country girl! YIKES! I can't even imagine shopping now!
I started gift wrapping already. Put on some Christmas songs, grab the "supplies" and away I go!
Today I started cleaning out the kids bedrooms while they are gone (at my ex's). Armed w/huge lawn bags this mom was throwing broken toys, unused toys (donated) and organizing what I could without any objections from kids who want to throw nothing away! Time to make room for the new stuff coming in a month. This was no small feat I tell you.......my kids rooms are disasters! It dawned on me today........I gave birth to pigs! LOL

The first time I saw fried cheese curds it was at the Minnesota State Fair, where there was a fried cheese curds booth on every corner. I didn't know what they were, but they were good.
Minnesota State Fair cheese curds are the BESTUS! You come back to MN, Francois, and I will gladly share some with you!

Well mac, did you open it yet or are you gonna wait? Don't think you are gonna get off that easy just saying it arrived........curious (nosey) people like me want to know what ya got!
BTW....YES, get your butt in gear. Your gift should be mailed SOON hon! Although, a "seasoned" shopper as yourself, I am sure you battled the crowds today.....the WORSE possible shopping day of the year! Tell me you didn't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping? Say it isn't sooooooo!

It isn't hard to be nice to such wonderful peeps! Anytime and I mean ANYTIME you find yourselves in Northern Minnesota, I certainly hope that you can find time to come and visit! I have grown very fond of the people that I have met on the forum.......truely another blessing in my life.

Capp.......I won't be able to get to the post office until Tues or Wednesday this next week, so please tell you grandmother to watch for another jar in the mail. Maybe give her a "heads up" about who it is from so she isn't concerned about getting this from a stranger!

My Family Thanksgiving Day (Pictures)
by COMF inmy family's portrait is in the illustrated dictionary beside "dysfunctional".
once upon a time we used to gather together at my grandparents' place.
at first, that was easy to do since we all lived with my mom (we were her kids, four of us: brother john, me, sister janis, and sister carolyn).

Great pics, COMF! I do have two questions, though......the little boy-is he your son? And what in the world was that wonderful dessert that was upside down w/nuts on top of it?! It isn't nice to tease us like that!
The pictures showed a happy family enjoying a special day. Isn't life grand?
