  Why Do JW`s still use the Name Jehovah ,when they admitted in the Aid Book that it is not the correct pronunciation of his name ?

  God had over 1300 pages (depending on the translation you use) to set the record straight about the pronunciation of his name, and many other things that people argue over endlessly, yet he left it open for different expressions and that is where we are 2000 years later.

  Could it be that he actually does not care whether anyone pronounces it correctly? Maybe it is so complex that he doesn't expect us to be able to pronounce it. I don't claim to know. However, the Greek Scriptures don't contain it in any of the oldest manuscripts known - is that an indication of something? We are not perplexed about Yeshua (Jesus). Just my 2 cents...

  eie - I hope you didn't think I was criticizing your efforts. You are right that factual information can help those who are already questioning or on the fence. As for fully indoctrinated PIMIs, I think it is very very rare to see them swayed because they assume eveything contrary to WTC is apostate driven lies.

  WTC is making a concerted effort to erase their history of false prophesies but it is a fool's errand. There are simply too many ways to show the redactions. They were quick to discredit Ray Franz and it was all hands on deck. A district overseer told me that Ray was sporting a clerical collar and forming a new church. Of course there was no truth in that at all. The D.O. never apologized for the lie/misinformation - I think he wanted it to be true.

  As for the 6,000 years of man's history ending in 1975, the achaeological evidence of civilizations dating back to 12,000 old is overwhelming. Because it is impossible to discredit, WTC does not even try to explain the discrepancy, simply saying that carbon dating is inaccurate. (In fact, carbon dating is often inaccurate as it typically underestimates the age of the artifact.

  Nevertheless, WTC proves that it has no focus on truth whatsoever. If you want to see if they are lying, watch their lips to see if they are moving.

  Sorry eie, but it is almost impossible to shake JWs out of their tree like almonds. From my experience, they either leave on their own or they don't leave at all.

  My old friends and family shun me and I never sent them anything to expose WTC. I was never DF'd or DA'd but the result is the same - they hate me and I have no respect for them. Truthfully, the shunning made it easier to complete my fade and stay out. I see them for what they really are, and I will never go back. I have a new set of friends now and I am happier than I have ever been. And, I have no illusions that I can keep any old friends who are still in.

  He was Jesus Cano, a Walkill bethelite who according to reports "traveled around the U.S." as part of his work at Bethel. He was 50 years old, caught in Chicago. The number of victims was very high, never announced the actual number.

  How did WTC put that fire out? He was an ACTIVE Bethelite. Where are the lawsuits? Shame on you WTC!

  As to how manyJWs there really are now - consider this:

  • KHs have been sold on a scale never seen before. according to reports
  • Congregations have been dissolved and consolidated to adjust for low attendance
  • Some cities have reduced congregations by more than 50%
  • The UK has seen the greatest reduction of congregations on record
  • Reports from R&F say that meeting in person attendance averageds 35-50%
  • Faders in the 16-35 range are off the charts
  • Elderly are passing away rapidly and many are confined to home due to health
  • Childbirth among JWs seems to be down (this is anecdotal) and even born-ins are leaving in record numbers as teenagers
  • New JWs coming in are almost unheard of
  • DFing has been expanded so that ANY undesirables can be kicked out
  • Shunning is regularly encouraged in the WT and at meetings

  I suspect that the real number of members is closer to 4.5 million. WTC will never admit this as they massage the numbers to justify 8.5 million. Admitting the truth would result in further shrinkage.

  Will JWs throw you under the bus if you have a transfusion?

  "if a person accepts a blood transfusion, the jehovah’s witness elders are required to “investigate” to see if the person is sorry for “cowardly” saving their life.

  if the person doesnt beg and grovel to the elders for allowing the doctor to save their life (or that of their child) then the elders can take this as a sign that he/she has disassociated from the congregation - and tell the congregation to start shunning them.. if someone willingly takes blood, perhaps because of being under extreme pressure, the committee should obtain the facts and determine the individual’s attitude.

  WTC has tried to relax the repercussions of accepting a BT for legal reasons. They also know that most JWs do not understand the blood policy and it's complexity/contradictions. They would like to drop it altogether but doing so would open a floodgate of lawsuits from JWs who were affected adversely by the policy. For all those who have lost family members, do some research to determine whether or not the policy is scriptural. It should be an eye-opener.

  i have a friend in another state that doesn't know i disassociated.

  i have come right out and said on more than one occasion when talking about what the bible says verses the wt, that we are being duped.

  the person tends to agree but then buries their head in the sand and forgets.

  Barbara Anderson is one of the most honest, accurate advocates for truth that I have ever known. Her research into the issues at WTC are beyond question from what I know and can testify to as a personal witness. Some well-intentioned persons have embellished or confused facts about WTC, but Barbara only writes what is confirmed as the actual facts. She rarely speculates, but on the rare occasion that she does, she clearly makes it known for what it is. Is my recommendation glowing enough?

  There was a Walkill Bethelite years ago who was caught peeping at the airport and arrested. They traced his residence back to Bethel and showed up with a warrant to search his room. His personal closet was FULL of Child Sex Abuse material. He was a high-volume perpetrator.

  Bethel DF'd him as quickly as possible at the jail to avoid the stigma that he was an active JW - well he was an active JW.

  Personal closets were not cleaned by housekeepers, but they were shared by roomates. I never believed that others at Bethel didn't know that the guy was a serial child porn addict. Bethel keeps tabs on everyone there most of the time. It would be quite a challenge for his overseer and co-workers not to figure out that there was a problem.

  He was sentenced to many years - I think he is still in prison.

  I was reading another thread about Ted Jaracz from 16-22 years ago. Some of the posters expressed concern that maybe the Watchtower was being treated unfairly. Fast forward to December 2022. I wonder if they still feel that way given the number of cases WTC has settled and/or lost in court where indisputable evidence was presented. How do they feel today knowing that over 24,000 molesters are listed in their 3 databases which are air-gapped at Patterson (according to a CO and corroborated by plaintif attorneys).

  Do they also believe that Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein were railroaded? I don't care for false accusations either but children lying about these types of things is rarer than elephants in Alaska. WTC seems to think that pressuring R&F to disbelieve such accusations as the ravings of apostates is the way to go. However, as the past few years indicate, there are many conspiracy theories being proven that were initially debunked.

  When it comes to the welfare of children, it is ALWAYS best to listen and investigate, rather than to dismiss as lies.
