More words do not make a point sharper. Bible commentary seems to expand faster than a diaper, and it is just tiresome. Five people have 6 opinions on any given verse, so why bother. If God wanted us to know, he could have been clearer. In the meantime, believe what you want - everyone else does.

To All Those Keen To Tell Us About Their Beliefs
by Simon inwe seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.
they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?
) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

'church elders are told to report any allegations of child sexual abuse to the authorities immediately'
by was a new boy in'the spokesperson also said that church elders are told to report any allegations of child sexual abuse to the authorities immediately, even if there is only one complainant.'.
https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/rebekah-vardy-sexually-abused-child-jehovahs-witnesses/.
is this true?

They have not changed their position and I doubt that they will. They are indeed claiming that they are clergy so there's that too.
If they change, the floodgates will truly be wide open, and they are already settling more cases out of court than they can afford.
The 2-witness rule is indeed their red line. They will not be shifting to 1-witness in the foreseeable future.
They reluctantly admit that CSA is a crime, but their actions betray that they view it as sin, maybe just a short-coming. It depends on who you ask. Look at their actions and decide.

Details of my Disfellowshipping
by Holy Grail 007 ini will tell you the truth because i do not tell lies and am always honest.
in may 2006 i was diagnosed with bipolar.
my wife separated from me against my will.

Holy Grail 007 - WTC reminds elders that 1 year is a minimum for being disfellowshipped. They probably wanted you to wait for that time to pass. However, DFing is handled differently from cong to cong. Some are incredibly harsh and some are unbelievably lenient. Aside from being unscriptural (see other threads about what was expected from the man in Corinth who was no longer considered as a Brother), DFing according to how JW's do it is unchristian and inhuman.
It sounds like you have a lot of bitterness - I understand why. Maybe try looking at it from this perspective. YOU ARE FREE from WTC and it's cruelty. Live the life you have left and find joy in it. Seek continual treatment for your bipolar disorder - and thank GOD that you are no longer enslaved to WTC.
As for continuing to ask for forgiveness. You admitted your mistake. You changed. Asking for forgiveness endlessly is like saying that God has not forgiven. I don't believe that is the case. You will make other mistakes - so ask for forgiveness for those. Let the other thing go.
Please feel free to text me. I can offer some sincere words of comfort.

It is now 2003.... Where is Armageddon?
by Nosferatu ini find it extremely amusing how each year is passing without armageddon.
"for the year 2000, i visualize a world transformed into a beautiful paradise!
but i don't think that either the present world or its rulers will live to see that day.. we are living in the last days of the system of things.

Answer - sometime in the future but not today - maybe - or maybe not.
I find it astonishing that 100 people can read the Bible and come up with 101 different understandings. Was that intentional by the writers, or were they just ambiguous enough so that there would always be an excuse for others to use when they were wrong? I don't know. What I do know is that we are alive, and now is the time to make a difference. Uniting people for their benefit is not easy, but it should be the goal for all of us. Devouring one another plays into the end time, doomsday religions.
Know any? I can think of one.

Person - Welcome to a place where you can speak out and not be treated like the plague.
Fountain Chambers is headquartered in London, Eng. They are a legal group of barristers (lawyers). If they contacted you through this forum, then beware. Someone may be trying to out you.
Otherwise, maybe they got your name from another thread or source and have a legitimate reason. Whatever the case, be cautious what you share until you are certain that they are not trying to get your name for the Branch to pursue you.

Advice to reduce hours earn less and spend more time on the ministry
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inthe advice to reduce work and earn less to spend more time preaching has not aged well.. the cost of living crisis means many have more going out on necessities than they have coming in.. so many asked their employer to reduce their hours and refused promotion only to see their colleagues go up the ladder when they stayed lowly position with rubbish jobs thinking the end will be here soon.
next week midweek meeting is all about preparing for an economic crisis.. they say have a go bag and new advice for all jws to store food and water at home and grow a vegetable garden, i kid you not.
this is the new direction..

I recall that article. I, along with many others, was mystified by the logic which was in stark contrast to the scriptural admonition of caring for aging parents. Our conductor stumbled through it and offered apologetic explanations for why it was written.
I knew why it was written and so did many others. WTC was already selling KHs in ernest due to CSA lawsuits and revenue shortfalls. Numbers were bad and they spun like a ferris wheel to get full-time servants to stay in their assignments. Armageddon was no where to be seen and folks were throwing in the towel.
It was obvious to me. Was it to you?

July 2023 Study Article 29: Are You Ready for the GT (part 3)
by blondie inhad to take a break to get my chores caught up; last section: strengthen your love.
this implies that any jw had "real" love or knew what it was outside the wts definition.
many jws just perpetuate the type of love they were show in their congregation.

Hellothere - I agree. People love people but corporations do not - and people who expect it are quickly disappointed. JWs get disillusioned when they find that the religioun is actually nothing more than a corporation masquerading as a psuedo religion. Your comment was astute. If only more JWs could arrive at the same truth. There are so many good people within, but they have a difficulty seeing it for waht it is.

Trying to help JWs see themselves by showing them other cults may be effective, but it is is initially met with anger, irritation and suspicion.
I began to see what we really were when I compared us (JWs) to Heaven's Gate (Steve Lett playing the role of Marshall Applewhite).
JW's would never openly advocate mass suicide but they will advocate the refusal to accept a life-saving blood transfusion, avoid formal education beyond high school, and all critical thinking that is not aligned with their narrative.
As a result, millions - yes millions of persons have failed to reach their potential. Millions who used to be living have not caught the comet as they learned that what they were taught was worse than pure speculation - it was a lie. I wonder if they were ashamed as they took their last breath?

Of course some JWs are still chasing pyramid scemes that scam everyone involved. Some that I know were propositioned by fellow "brothers" wanting "help" them make "ginormous" amounts of money.
JWdom is in trouble as the chickens have come home to roost. Those who didn't follow the narrative considered the real future and learned a trade or went to school and are now able to provide for themselves. All the while, they were pariahs to the rest of the faithful who are now up a creek without a wing and a prayer.
LHG won't be at anyones door begging them to erase mistakes of the past, so I'm calling her a winner. All the others... they might be on the losing end of the stick, not the carrot.
