Being a WTC apologist either breaks you or makes you look broken. I did it for years and am still ashamed for not being intellectully honest. Maybe the better course is to let WTC apologize for its actions and policies - even if they never do that.

Should laws be passed compelling the church to report crimes?
by Fisherman inif laws were passed compelling the church to report crimes to government authorities and there was no legal way around it and the church was forced to comply and did comply, nobody would confess their sins.
it wouldn’t stop people from committing crimes, they just wouldn’t tell their church about it.

WHEN is the Kingdom of God coming?
by Fisherman inwhen is the kingdom of god coming?.
on being asked by the pharisees when the kingdom of god was coming, he answered them: “the kingdom of god is not coming with paratherisis; 21 nor will people say, ‘see here!’ or, ‘there!’ for look!
the kingdom of god is in your midst.” —lu 17:20,21. .

Starting September 01, 2022, the Angels will help in the ministry work
by RULES & REGULATIONS in2022 governing body update # 6. what exciting news david splane has for all jehovah's witnesses ( who for the last three years were spared the house-to-house preaching work ) '' that we'll return to the ministry september 01, 2022. just in time for our world wide campaign to start bible studies.
and, i'm sure the angels are excited too, because it will give them opportunities to help us with our ministry.''.
not only will the witnesses be rusty in their return to the field ministry, the angels in heaven have been sitting idle while the pandemic stopped the house-to-house ministry.

David seems to have inside information on the activities of the angels. Perhaps he would like to share more. I await eagerly like a spittoon surrounded by dippers.

Did Jesus have a Y chromosome?
by Fisherman ineven in jesus’s day, humans had chromosomes.
and so did jesus —because he was human.
so let’s say jesus took a dna test, his mitochondrial dna would go back to eve but interestingly jc also would inherit dna from sinful adam on his mother’s side because his mother mary passed on to jc dna from both adam and eve.

Whether or not you believe in the virgin birth, Matt 1:23 says that the angel announced that Mary would “conceive”. Earlier the writer says by “holy spirit” (Matt 1:18).
If the translation is accurate in its use of the word “conceive”, then Mary contributed half of the DNA and the rest was perhaps new DNA. This can only be conjecture as the scriptures do not elaborate on genetic science/engineering.
WTC has long theorized that sin comes through the DNA of the male. They may be right or just twisting the scriptures. Or maybe the hokey pokey really is what it’s all about. Who knows?!
The real question I ask is: Where is the connection to the previous spirit creature that was in heaven prior to his arrival on earth as a human embryo? In transferring the life of Jesus to the womb of Mary, something more than material DNA was surely required. WTC narrative does not allow for a life force to have been transferred - even if they say otherwise. They have never adequately explained the breath of life that God breathed into Adam at creation. They also teach that when a person dies, he ceases to exist entirely. If that is the case, then those resurrected are little more than clever duplicates of the original person since there is no uninterrupted link/connection between the past life and the future life. Would we take comfort in a promise that an identical version of one self will be recreated to live in the future? I certainly would not since it would not be ME.
Please think about this a little while before sending a knee jerk reply supporting WTC theology. This is not a promotion for an immortal soul, but rather a question about the life force itself and the role it plays in making us the individuals that we are, something more than a complex electro-chemical assemblage of DNA. Seriously, take some time to think this over.

Shunning Disfellowshipped & Apostate family Members. Scriptural?
by objectivetruth inanyone who is a witness or was previously a witness, is aware of the written & un-written rules concerning association with disfellowshipped family members.. there are a multitude of quotes through out the watchtower publications, but these 2 will suffice.. "are you proving yourself holy by not associating with family members or others who are disfellowshipped?
"the clear instruction in the bible is: avoid them.
that means that we have to stay away from them... the bible says that apostates are mentally diseased and that they use their teachings to make others think like them... what must we do to avoid false teachers?

DFing is essential to JWs. It will only be "pryed from their cold dead fingers" like a handgun. Without DFing, they fear the eye-opening influence that former members might exert on PIMIs. But wait! There's more! Now they shun inactive ones for the same reason. But wait! There's even more!!! They have begun to shun ACTIVE members that they have issue with - yes for the same reason. They are devouring one another and there is no stopping them. "DONNER PARTY of 4,000,000. Your table is ready!"

Do you pray?
by Fisherman ini’ve always had a personal relationship with god that is not affected by any issues or controversies i have with anybody..

I agree with Vanderhoven. Although I prayed to Jehovah for decades, it dawned on me after some research that if God really wanted us to use his proper name, he would reveal it along with the proper pronunciation. The scriptures had 1400 pages to make that clear if it was his wish. Going beyond what is written and turning it into a religion seems like the wrong thing to do. I began to acknowledge him as Father, just as a son speaks to his own father. It seems to be more respectful IMO and inline with how Jesus addressed him.
My old JW acquaintances are dogmatic about using Jehovah but cold on Yahweh or any form of the earlier reference to him as if they would be apostate. They have not researched the origin of "Jehovah" and won't consider that earlier church fathers mislead them.

Before I left, I recall a serious discussion at a BOE mtg. The dollar amount for the month was less than $100 above what I gave! Obviously the BOE and the COBE leading the discussion had given nothing. I realized that the heart of the congregation was trending toward no donations. The Branch put the KH on the market soon after that.

Fantasy film making at it's best. Surely no one with a clear sense of reality would buy into this form of dishonest teaching.

JW "new light" immediately reversed/contradicted
by BoogerMan inseptember 2022 study watchtower - par.

the unrighteous must have practiced these vile things before their death.

We are witnessing the internal collapse of their teaching and writing. From the 1st word in an article to the last word, the writer wanders from Adam to Armageddon making dogmatic statements followed by contradicting dogmatic statements. Does anyone still believe that WTC has any spiritual insight? Let the reader use discernment.

Investment departments in Bethel
by Mikejw ini was a bethelite in london for many years then got reassigned to the field and then went on brd from the start of chelmsford right upto covid.. during my years at the branch i was sometimes asked to be on a team who went to homes donated to the branch when some older one died.. this happenes an awful lot, everything is left to the branch in the will.
the unbelieving family is furious they didn’t get left anything and sometimes they tried to get their elderly relatives possessions and there was a legal battle .
but in the end a team of us would go and empty the property and another team would clean it up and put it on the market to sell it for the worldwide work.. all the possessions were sorted into trash or possibly valuable .

I don't want to throw cold water on anyone's theory, but I think (only my idea mind you) that the reason the GB is given to wearing the rings is that 1. They are insecure and it makes them feel like they have more clout and presence when they are adorned with gold 2. They secretly wish that they were wearing University rings that would make them more credible as leaders of a multi-billion dollar religious/business corporation.
These men are both arrogant AND insecure at the same time. They envy the degree'd Bethelites they have doing their legal work and other licensed activity that requires a degree from a university or college. To me, this is the saddest part of all. I have never thought that they were masons or part of a secret order. They are just unlettered, ordinary men who want to be lettered and extraordinary.
