  Prediction: no more changes for a long while

  i’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.

  so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.

  maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

  all the big changes for jws since this last fall brought me back to this site, and got me and the wife talking.

  just how many things were we not allowed to do growing up as jehovah's witnesses?

  we were so used to all the rules, customs, and traditions, that we became used to them.. one site i found claims there are 141 unique rules!!

  probably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.

  in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?

  " by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

  I pronounce Jeffro the winner of the dispute. Actually it doesn’t matter. Either date makes the “ generation” too old to be valid. Perhaps we shift the conversation to something with genuine significance, like : “Why does Scholar feel it is necessary to be an apologist for WTC?”

  A plaintiff attorney was told by an insider that WTC was now inclined to pay rather than go to court. They have been losing in court so that explains them turning on autopay. This also confirms what I was aware of also.

  The question is, will the relaxation of state stautes result in enough cases to dwarf the Legal Dept and the Treasury?

  Sektenkult - the facility is still used for C.O.s to be "updated" on the latest position that the Branch wants them to stand behind. Others who have left Bethel also receive schooling for one effort or another.

  we had the meeting with the branch representative this weekend.. the air was different than usual.. bearded ushers at the parking lots welcomed the brothers warmly.. lots of sisters with dress pants or not, nothing scandalous.. the representative of the italian branch made his debut on stage with his full beard.. location: roseto degli abruzzi (italy-europe).

  some interesting statistical data can give a little food for thought after the numerous changes that have occurred in recent months (the ten-year or five-year plan, if you prefer, seems to be producing some small results).. attendance has increased since the last meeting.. our constituency includes 1725 publishers and those present in the morning were 1553, a little better than the november 2023 convention.

  perhaps the new changes have brought some back to attendance?.

  From what I hear, the yang wans are still getting baptized, but not staying in. A significant percentage leave later between 18-21. Apparently the pressure for born-ins to get baptized is increasing as fewer 'converts' are made.
