i’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.
During my time at the Bible House, WTC occasionally revisited the 5 year plan but I never heard any mention of a 10 year plan. If it existed, it was vague and lacked specifics. Most Fortune 50’s have 5 year plans but they tweak them constantly since business landscapes change rapidly.
I don’t actually believe WTC has a 10 year plan. Most of the decision makers don’t have a 10 day plan.

I once heard some heavies at the Bible House say that listing the “lies” of apostates would be to propagate them. I disagreed since it only made publishers curious as to what these “apostate lies” were.

Some years ago, France was forced to restore what it took from Watchtower and I assume that they did. WTC did not crow about the win - they probably knew that France would be back later - now they are.
JWs never see these losses as indication of a systemic problem within their religion, so they don’t reform, they only become compliant- begrudgingly.
The good ole days of winning cases seems to be ancient history.

Perhaps I was under the misimpression that the UN Charter accepts only member nations who are actually sovereign nations. During the Clinton administration, Yasser Arafat rejected statehood for Palaestine, so they remained an occupied territiory of Israel. There are probably exceptions... Can anyone tell me the details of how they almost were voted in as a member nation when they are not a nation?
Korea stated adding that its vote today “does not constitute bilateral recognition of Palestine as a State”.
Maybe my old neighborhood should apply to become a member nation. Most member nations don't pay their fair share of dues so we would not that to concern us. Someone else could pay our dues - or not. There must be some benefits - right? Free coffee?
I recall that WTC really chafed that the Vatican was a sovereign nation. All they could become was an NGO. Life is so unfair!!!!
