As Slim said, phones listen and then ads that draw upon key words are used to target the user. I have noticed this happening many times. I do think that it is an invasion of privacy.

a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

I know an elder who thought that abhorrent "gay" porn only applied to men/men. He was shocked when it was pointed out that it applied to women/women as well. Apparently, he was watching abhorrent female gay porn and thought it was not abhorrent. When I heard the story, I had to laugh out loud. Seeing him at assemblies, I could hardly keep a straight face.

Recently I was talking to someone and I mentioned a product that I might purchase. An hour later, I received an ad for that product. I knew that my phone listened to conversations that were had on the phone, but this was an in-person conversation. I consider that to be an invasion of privacy.

UBS focused on tax avoidance for its clients. However, WTC pays no taxes, so what is the lure of placing former UBS executives in the newly formed Ireland Corporations?
Possible Answers: It appears that they are being used to receive all assets so that they can do one or more of the following:
1. Leverage these properties to extract value without liquidating them. Meanwhile members continue to pay monthly payments for the use of the KHs they already paid for previously. These monthly payments go toward the equity draws that have been taken. Essentially they are now renting what they previously owned.
2. Use the equity draws taken from properties under their management to "invest for profit". The Directors are former investment bankers. No doubt they were very persuasive in claiming that they could grow funds.
3. Liquidate any properties that are not being adequately paid for by congregations. Take the proceeds and invest for profits. The congregations are displaced but who cares? They were not paying their share.
4. Use one of the 3 corporations to manage payments (transfers) of funds IN and OUT. This is a complicated transactional business, calling for meticulous management to avoid money laundering prohibited by the countries that WTC operates in.
5. Pay WTC what is needed, when it is needed. Such payments are tax-deductible of course. The current corporations used by WTC have/will have no accumulated assets because such were transferred into the Ireland Corporations. They will essentially be corporations on paper only for the most part. When a CSA lawsuit arises, there are no funds to be taken. The accuser has no standing to sue the Irish corporations that have the assets that USED to be in the PA Corporation, the NY Corporation, or the Christian Congregation of JWs. The accuser could go after the local congregation elders but that is almost always a dead end. Individual elders can declare bankruptcy.
Any of the above provide WTC new protections from CSA lawsuits, and help them manage assets without fear of new financial attacks. As an internal safeguard, a board of directors on each of the 3 corporations is made up of loyal Bethelites who can monitor the CEO to make sure that funds are used as intended, even generating profit if the investments produce as planned. It is likely that any funds they receive personally will be donated back to WTC, which will then transfer those donations back to Ireland. The Bethelites will be within the guidelines of their 'vow of poverty'.
Even though it is likely that WTC will not be breaking laws - it is NOT what members expect them to do with dedicated funds. What would Jesus do?

as you know my ex wife and i adopted her brother at 7 years old when his parents passed away.. we brought him up a j.w but he left at 16 and moved in with his girlfriend.. it came out he had been interfering with our 3 daughters when they were very young.. he never got prosecuted becouse my daughters didnt want to ( i suspect their mother a hard out j.w has something to do with that) so basicly he walked free.. latter in life he left his girlfreind comes back to the j.ws and they welcome him like the prodical son and he marries a j.w.. if anyone reading this thinks the j.ws like to hide c.s a read on.. it came to my attention recently by 2 ex elders that had read the letter that followers him when he moves congros that it says the sex bettween him and my daughters was consensual..they were under 10 years old.. this were it gets disgusting.. i approach the p.o of my old congro and ask him who wrote the letter he said he had moved by that time go see another elder .. i did he didnt know as well and said for me to ring the branch.. i did and they were not interested in changing the letter at all basicly go away.. the offender has moved congros 3 times and every time they elders think my daughters under 10 went along with this pos.. not sure what my next move is as the branch here has closed down and they operate out of a diffrent country.. if anyone wants to ask questions ill p.m the reply to you..

I dealt with a similar case where the kids (12 years old) were mutually engaged in sex together. The police cited "Romeo and Juliet" statutes and no charges were filed. The parents were counseled to keep the kids apart and get them some needed counseling. The elders agreed with this.
In another case, one party was 19 and the other was 15. Authorities took it serious and criminal charges were considered, until both were interviewed. The 16 year old was too young to consent, but the case was still dropped and it "went away". The parents of the 16 old were pretty upset but the local DA refused to escalate the case, probably due to the extreme immaturity of the 2 kids. These things are not always black in white in the eyes of the law.

I have seen many Bethelites who were just shy of 60 years old. They received nothing and got little support from individuals. Most had almost no marketable skills. I felt it was heartless on Bethel's part, but the blame needs to be shared. Being gullible will get you deep in a hole, in any religion. Nevertheless, JWs need to wise up. They are being taken advantage of and it will only end when they stop drinking the WTC koolaid.
As for the question, "How do they survive when they can't work any longer? Most are pitiful and broken, relying on gov't handouts. It is just too sad to bear.

Trying to make sense of WTC numbers is maddening as Blondie proves.
These days, it seems that few organizations tell the truth and fewer are willing to admit it even when their assertions are proven false beyond all doubt. So where are all the liars headed? All we can say is "in the wrong direction".
If WTC admits at the next annual meeting that the 144,000 is a figurative number, or that it is perhaps the number of actually engaged heavenly citizens at a given time - they expose that they have no clue whatsoever. In fact, WTC does not have Bible scholars who have any formal training in theological studies - and yes - it does matter.
The fruitage of such theological illiteracy is the flip flops we have seen over the years. It is not "new light" - just the same old charlatans changing clothes while hoping that no one notices.
