larc,
I agree with you, both parties(Democrat and Republican) are corrupt.
As far as favorite female athelets, do cheerleaders and the women in the WWF and WCW count.

Has anyone heard about this?
for i do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to israel until the fullness of the gentiles has come in.
- romans 11:25. .
i wonder how many of you having read the 11 chapter of romans, see that the jews have not been rejected of god forever.. seems to me from the above verse that they were blinded to the truth, and that this blindness is temporary ... until the fullness of the gentiles, the gentiles, of course being those who would make up the church class, the bride of christ, the 144,000.. what say ye?.
Carmel and waiting,
You two sure know how to take a discussion into a different realm of meaning.
(((BIG GRIN)))
i ran across this on truthsearcher.
i would appreciate anyone's thoughts on this.. __________.
who is the "alpha and omega" and the first and last"-jesus or jehovah?.
I use several translations. The one I probably use the most is: The New Jerusalem Bible. I also use the NWT a lot, not because I find it to be one of the most accurate translations.
Anyone who understands the prophecies that are lined out in the Bible and research the historical information that supports it, will see that the Bible is more than a good book to live your life by.
There is much information that is out there to try to prove Bible prophecy is lacking in facts. The information I have seen in this regard is indeed lacking in research and facts.
i have been to many different sites in the last four years regarding religion.
i find it amusing that when a leader or founder of a movement takes upon the role of someone who speaks for god, and then what the founder said as "supposed" truth from god fails, they back peddle and try to give new meaning to what was really meant to begin with.. i myself look at charles taze russell (bible students), joseph smith (lds), ellen g. white (adventists), and others that took upon themselves as spokesmen for god, as false prophets according to deutoronomy 18:20-22.. of course those that follow such movements will at times say that what was said by the leaders actually happened in a way different than what was actually intended, when actually it was a clear failure as to what was supposed to take place according to the founder or leader of the movement.
i would be interested in opinions as to what anyone believes what a false prophet is to them.. just because someone does not come out and say: i am a prophet for god, does not excuse them (imo) from the failures they spoke and mislead people with.. what are your opinions.
RR,
You said a prophet is one who speaks for God. This is true.
The topic is: What is a false prophet? Not what is a prophet.
From what you said, those who predict things that are not inspired of God, are a false prophet (IMO). Does C.T.Russell fit this discription of one who claims to speak for God but is not inspired of God? After all, much if not all of what Russell claimed would take place failed. Russell used scripture to try to prove his point.
If Russell was not inspired of the "TRUE" God, then what was his inspiration?

Hello RR,
You asked where Russell used these terms. There are just to many to qoute so I will post you the URL of the 1913 Convention Report of the International Bible Students.
I am amazed you are not aware of this and all the qoutes by Russell as far as his involvement with Masonry. I know as a fact that you have discussed this topic on other Bible Student Forums in length.
Anyway, here is the link.
http://www.exjws.net/museum/masonry.htm
It would be an eye opener for all on this forum to see the facts of Russells deep involvment in Masonry.
Notice on page 123 Russell says: WE Masons try to live up to a high standard... (Russell considered himself a Mason).
page 120 Russell considers the Masons his Masonic Bretheren.
The list goes on.
As I said in the earlier post, it is not membership in a secret organization that is the danger, it is the belief of the individual.
Russell was a Mason in heart, soul and mind.
i found some interesting statistics, some of which you may know, that indicate that the wtbts is in decline.. 1. in the twenty years from 1970 to 1990, the rate of yearly increase dropped from 10% to 6%.
in the last 10 years it has dropped from 6% to about 2%.
since the world population growth is about 1.5% they are only growing at about 1/2 of 1% faster than the population.. 2. in 1999, there were 21 large countries that showed a decline.

CONTINUED:
What makes one an atheist? Do you have to become an official member of the "Atheist Society" to be an atheist? NO. One is an atheist because of ones beliefs. Russell is considered by many as a Mason because his belief system was Masonic. Most Masons, even some who have attained the 33rd degree, have no idea what Freemasonry teaches.
But Russell actually believed all that stuff! Some people are more Jehovah's Witnesses than most JW's, and yet they are not baptized. They are not official members of the Watchtower, but are Witnesses in heart, mind, and soul. What can be dangerous is ones belief system, not our membership!
This is truly what matters. Russell's belief system was Masonic. The dozens of pieces of circumstancial evidence, some of which he literally took to his grave, are overwhelming.
It is very difficult to verify membership in secret organizations such as Freemasonry. How do you know that I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses? I challenge you to find any record of my membership or someone who saw me get baptized!
It is my feeling that THE REAL ISSUE IS: Did Russell bring his Masonic beliefs and his Masonic world view into the Watchtower?
