When I replied to Bugeye about searching the web or (some) brushing up on their history, I was not being derogatory. I at times see phrases or words or people's names attached with events that I am not familiar with, so I sometimes take the time to look them up or find what they mean or who the person is.
This topic was meant for fun, but with so many topics on this forum, it has started to turn to shit.

the latest edition of the free in christ ministries journal contains a very interesting article entitled the watchtower and masons.. drawing upon material from the book the watchtower & the masons by fritz springmeier, it gives the following parallels between the things that c t russell believed and those taught by the masons:.
* both believe jehovah is the most important word being the basis of their dogma, and the name of their god.
* both believe god yielded power to a lesser god.
After reading these sites, it is evident that Russell was influenced by masonry. Of course maybe Randy Watters is wrong in putting this site on the web as well as McGregor Ministries and others not mentioned.

Seeker, I too am in the camp that believes Russell was not a Mason. I do believe he had ties with them, and this is more than obvious. I do not see from DannyBears posts that he said Russell was a died in the wool Mason.

Dogma= A system of principles or tenents as of a church.2. a specific tenent authoritatively put forth
Freemason= a member of a secret fraternal association for mutual assistance and the promotion of brotherly love.
This is not all that is contained in masonry and it's rituals and beliefs.
I disagree with you Charles that masonry has (NO) dogma. I also disagree with you that Russell knew nothing about Masonry as you said in another topic a few days ago.

I said it before and I say it again, you have guts, I like that. You also can see facts when presented. You do not take the facts and sensationalize them, you just see them and acknowledge it.
