DA'd myself today
by Pierced Angel inwell, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.
so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.
they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.

Why is it stressful to be a Witness?
by Mindchild ini would honestly appreciate any feedback of why, in simple terms, you feel there are stresses to being a witness.
the source of stress you have in mind doesn't have to be gigantic.
i'm looking to catalog a list of all the things causing stress to witnesses.. here is a list of ten things i could think of, and there are probably many more.

11.Constant demands made on their time, emotions, and self control.
12.Fear of not living up to the organizations expectations.
13.The stress of having to go to meeting after meeting, hour after hour, week after week, year after year and listen to basically the same repetitious ideas.
14.Being looked at as different or strange by school and work mates.
15.The stress of having to fart at the Kingdom Hall in the middle of a crowded meeting. -

here are the relevant verses:.
"when a prophet speaks in the name of the lord, if the word does not come about or come true, that is a word which the lord did not speak;" (deuteronomy 18:22).

I saw a special about two years ago similar to the one you mention. I remember seeing a few of the people that handled the snakes get bit. There was one person that had been bit over 50 times over the course of a few years. Maybe the people were immune from being bit so many times, maybe the snakes were milked before handling, maybe they are God's chosen people and they are the true religion. [8>]
Personally, I think they are a bunch of nut cases.

Surely you do not expect me or others to take your word or explanation as the undeniable truth as far as what you claim as the Bible teaching the earth to be flat?
I asked you for more proof, and you have not given it. Would it be wise to take a few Scriptures and develope a belief or non-belief around it? This is what the religious radicals do. Are you an anti-religious anti-Bible radical?
