What drives exJWs to atheism?
by ros ina significant number of former jehovah's witnesses come out of the watchtower still believing the bible and considering themselves christians.
most coming out are in a serious state of bewilderment, and they look intently and sincerely for something to fill the huge void of lost religion, lost family and friends, and lost fellowship.
they seek some viable spiritual association with others of like mind while at the same time having become very wary of any organized religion.. what is it that eventually draws so many of us (not me) to agnosticism or atheism?

ros,
The reason JanH mentioned not starting a new line is because if you do a person has to type the URL in instead of just clicking on it. For example: http://www.freeminds.org
The board is set up so all you have to do is type a word or object before the link and all you have to do is click on it.

Ah, the sweet taste of freedom!
by Sunchild intoday, i did a couple of things that i never would've or could've done had i remained a jw.
first of all, i spent the first half of my day being a promotional model for snapple.
my job: smiling, looking cute, and handing out free snapple drinks.

Sunchild,
Let us know if you make it to the actual TV program. I enjoy watching the Weakest Link. I heard that mean old lady Mistress Ann is not really mean at all. It is just the part she plays. There was a program where she hugged one of the contestants after the show and they had to do retake because it was caught on camera.
Hope you go all the way. Don't forget, BANK BANK BANK

jurs,
I have seen a lot of deceit over the years within several congregations. The thing I noticed the most is that most elders will lie and sacrifice each other if need be to hold their position within their congregation. The rank and file mean very little compared to gaining prestige among the higher ups.
There is a lack of humility within the ranks of the WTBTS from the top down. Humility is one thing that is needed in order for a person to admit they are wrong. Has the WTBTS really admitted their mistakes or have they hid them the best they could or even blamed the mistakes on others?
What I am saying is that 98% of the time you will be dealing with organization minded men and not humble individuals that want to do what is right.

Another thought on this, do get the recording. Have two recorders set up in different areas in the room. Make sure they are hidden. The elders will not usually talk to you if they know the conversation is recorded. When the conversation is over and they walk out your door, mention to them that you have recorded what transpired and close the door. This will leave you with a mental edge over them and at least keep them halfway honest.

jurs,
By reading your last two posts, it appears that the reason the elders may allow you at this point to have your witnesses in your behalf, is to find out how many others need to be shunned as well as you. It is a setup! I have seen it and experienced it. THINK this through. Don't allow them to have the edge.

Sue,
You said, How else can he do (his) ministry? When has the society turned the phrase the ministry of Christ to the ministry of Prince?
I wonder how he marks his time slip?
Before you know it, he will be having the WT and AFAKE magazines handed out at his concerts. Just think of the placements. He will set a society record.

So Farkel, you say it is not what man does, but what the CREATOR of man does/did.
Are you saying that you believe God created man?
I also wonder why you believe reptiles to be stupid. Supposedly, it was a reptile who started this mess with decieving us so called intellegent beings.
I wonder who would fair better in the middle of the wilderness, you or the stupid reptile.

ros,
Thanks for taking the time, something most of us have very little of now a days.
