My return to the WT...a terrible mistake

i haven't posted for quite a bit, decided to share my thoughts on this one, so it is a reference topic for anyone who decides to return back to the org, knowing all about the tatt.

being way for quite long for almost 15 years and all wt's activities, i have missed quite a lot including the "new light" latest updates, i found it quite hard to follow up what was going on to the meetings.

new songs, wt broadcast, videos, internet (so wt now is in favor of the internet) cartoons, and everything seemed completely new and weird to me.. reason for going back it was the severe pressure from close family members to return back to the "truth".

Sorry to hear that you are struggling. If you went back for the sake of your elderly mother then keep that at the front of your mind before you make any decisions.

You do not have to accept phone calls and shepherding calls. Be too busy to take their calls or schedule visits. Fade slowly. Miss a meeting here and there and then gradually miss more. Since we are all using tablets etc at meetings you can even read something completely different at the meeting which I have seen many do. Keep your mind occupied.

A person can stop associating with Jehovah's Witnesses, have nothing to do with Jehovah's Witnesses, without taking the step of disassociation. We've tried to make that very clear." (Day 259 transcript page 26536)

It is possible, it is hard.

when you were an active member in the jwland, did you expect to receive any kind of help from a brother/sister, but they did not help you?

when i was in the jwland, i expected and was my belief that any brother/sister will help you in time of need, distress or trouble, because we were part of a "lovely organization".

but countless of times when i needed and asked for help, nobody from the org helped me.

I often wonder if I were DFd and my mother was shunning me like a spiritual person should, who would take care of her if she needed it? No one. Would anyone let me know she needed help? Probably not.

The idea is to collect new recruits and not care about anything else.

Oh this stoopid shunning thing!!

warning - vent ahead....... so, my father (still very much in jw but who has at least had the decency to still keep in contact with me and hubby and to show interest in why we aren't attending and respect where we are at) is in intensive care at a local hospital and is intubated and sedated with some serious health issues.

i'm next of kin so i get all the phone calls from the hospital.. so, the rest of the "family" has cut me off because we are inactive and because the ever-active jw gossip grapevine has rumoured with a sibilant slithy hissy voice: "apossstassssy" is the cause of our inactivity.. whatever.. but now i've had to contact said "family" with the news about my father and what is going on....... so, dad's sisters answer my calls and manage to act and conduct themselves with a degree of decorum.. my sister on the other hand - well, she doesn't deign to answer my calls and texts for most of the day.

i push the issue tonight and insist on speaking to her when my brother-in-law answers the call.

Yes it's true. The shunning happens even if you just stop attending the Hall. You do not need to disassociate or get disfellowshiped. So it is on their mighty high horses.

The stories I can tell are mind boggling.

Got a text from my relative yesterday stating that we are very close to when gog of Magog will attack us and they are not worried for themselves (they go to the meetings so they are saved) but they are worried for us.

I have to keep reminding myself that they actually believe our lives are in danger and are coming from a place of concern. I know that is not true of everyone. Some people are just plain mean.

I love heavy metal!!!

probably you noticed that my avatar is a photo of steve harris, bassist of iron maiden.

i have quite a few years that i started to listen this kind of music, even when i was in the jwland.

although it was a "no-no" in the borders of jwland, i knew a lot of brothers and sisters that listened and loved this kind of music.

Wow! They want to know if you listen to heavy metal? Now have heard everything.

My kids love heavy metal. Guns and Roses are one of my son's favourites. They both love Slash and Ozzie Osborne.

I am glad that they research lyrics etc before songs get added to the playlist. Rammstein are a bit much for me.

I wonder if they think the silent treatment will get you to rethink your position or if they are trying to protect their own feelings. Remember they believe that you are either with them or against them and against them means your life. More of that fear controlling them.

jw dating

so before i say any thing yes i know not the best idea to date in middle school etc.. so one thing that still hurts me today is the most hot girl in my school at the time and my crush started to like me she tryed to ask me out but i i was not a wake at the time and i put her down many times and now today i rethink over and say if i started to rethink my life as a jw i would of said yes like my mind told me to.. now i rethink over that time and it sucks for me it hurts.. it just sucks man .

I remember those days even though I am old. Haha.

I have teenagers and my advice to them is - have friends at school. Concentrate on getting good grades and if you and your crush still want to date when you are done with school (18 here) then by all means date.

In the meantime they can see each other at school and in groups.

You are young and you will have many a crush before you choose "the one".

so i know i said on my last post that might be my last i still have one more week till that.. but i want to say somethings untill i see if i can post still but what i want to say is i had to go to the 2017 jw convention and my aunt can be a ass hole sometimes im sorry that was the only thing i could think of.i started to listen to how she acts when talking to people at the convention or the kingdom hall she acts 2x has nice and never gets mad.. i just wanted to talk about this just something i picked up on..

Keep your eyes open. Most if not all of them have two faces. Take your lessons from what you see and not what they say.

Watchtower Annulled My Baptism

contrary to popular belief you can have your baptism annulled as i did by my local elders after my judicial hearing.. the watchtower of 1964 page 126 first paragraph clearly states that anyone that was committing a gross sin before, during and after their baptism is void.

in order to get right with the lord you would need to be re-baptised.

err no thanks, i'm not a believer!!!!.

Happened to a woman in my congregation. Gets baptised one weekend and a couple of months later annulment is announced.

I also know of a case where the elders stepped in and stopped a baptism going ahead the night before it was going to happen.

i would like to state publicly, on this forum, i no longer hold the views i had a year ago.. with much thought, research, study and logical examination i have come to a better understanding of my beliefs and where i stand on all these issues.. i'm very happy to announce i have returned to healthful teaching of the holy scriptures and i firmly believe that the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is the faithful slave.. sorry if i have contibuted to any kind of stumbling and know that if i can turn things around then there's hope for all who come to there sence.. phill4:6,7.

Colinconfused - from your thought, study, research and logical examination can you please point me in the direction of proof that the GB is the faithful and discreet slave?

Russell said he was the slave and then he died. At what point did Jehovah choose the collective as the slave?

I have asked more than one JW and no one has the answer.
