There is always one!
by Isambard Crater ini am pimo but attended the r.c yesterday for family pressure reasons.
a "sister" i've not seen for a while told me her husband is overjoyed because a man he called on recently in the field service suddenly told him he wanted to attend the r.c.
the unusual thing is, this man is a millionaire having built a property portfolio.

Wow! Your ex is still in. Going to the meetings and taking her daughter with her and THIS is how the loving congregation including the "oh so spiritual" Nana choose to treat the ones "related to them in the faith"?
Shouldn't they be doing the opposite? Love bombing them to help see how loving they are and that they have the truth?
They have opened the door to the way out and are adding a boot showing their true colours and what is worse they think that this is how God wants them to be.
I hope your ex has some nice "wordly" friends with children. I would throw my own party for her and invite ones that will be your friend regardless of what you or your parents believe.

Another example of the smothering and high control nature of JW husbands
by stuckinarut2 ini have noticed another popular pattern of behaviour amongst witnesses in recent years.. many, and i mean lots of ones with instagram accounts have closed the wife's account, and have started a "couple's" account instead.
also, for families.
the children's accounts have been closed, and the husband starts a "family account".. it is mainly on the husband's device, and seemingly under his control.

I haven't seen anything like that amongst the jw i know. I have a teenager and I have all passwords and access. That is the condition to them having social media accounts.

Worldly people
by Akid48 inas i have come to see i have way more friends at school than my kingdom hall but if i get asked about school and i say something about my friends or ask to hang out with my friends to my aunt she gives me a talk about not to like worldly people to much.. for example i ask to go to my friends house (that is a girl)i have known her from 1st grade and my aunt gets mad at me saying what if she says i raped her or something but she lets me go by my self with brothers to hang out if i want but theres a chance i will get raped there to.. read my other posts to understand my story .

If you have to do a "school project" together you will have to be able to see each other. That is of course if you have classes together. I know some young ones will face time their school friends and help each other with home work etc.

The craziness of Christianity
by Normalfulla inso i was reading thru a fb feed about poor chester bennington and in relation chris cornell, there were some rather heated and unusual (or usual whatever you may think ) comments... no disrespect to believers but since leaving the jws i just see this type of discussion as lunacy.
... "chester is going to hell ,he killed himself so it's black and white in god's word ."..
"why would a loving god send a person who suffers from mental illness to hell?

Such good Christians going on Facebook and posting unsolicited, mean spirited comments like that. No thought about the person's loved ones who may read them. That's true "love thy neighbour" stuff right there. Whatever happened to not being judges so that you may not be judged?
In all honesty has anyone ever been to a funeral service where the celebrant/priest has said that the deceased is now in hell? Everyone is either in heaven or in gods memory when you listen to the service.

Believers: How do you know your view of your chosen holy book is the correct one?
by punkofnice indon't start fighting, darlings.
i am genuinely curious.
after all i was a jobo 50 years and thought the wbt$ was 100% correct.. i ask this because i see that, for example, christian denominations (or whatever), likely have differing interpretations of the same writing.

This is something that has troubled me. I am leaning towards the view that no religion is the true religion. The Bible was written afore time for our instruction. No where does it say that you will need an interpreter. I now think that I should be able to read the bible and understand it and that where it says to"get out of her my people" refers to all religions who would have you follow them without question.
