An elder with only one testicle

i happen to be one of very few people who know of this condition that the man has.

he had an accident several years ago with some power equipment.

leviticus 21:20 commands that no man present the bread at the temple with damaged testicles... so?.

It again shows that too much private information should not be shared. How would you even know if you were not told.

A few years ago a friend of mine was getting married. They had both been married before and were not JW at the time of their first marriages. They had a meeting with the elders prior to the wedding, both already in their 40s with grown children and the elders asked them if they were going to have children together? They said no and the topic of contraception came up. The brother revealed that it would not be a problem as he had a vasectomy years ago.

The elders were not happy to hear this and made sure to find out when it was that he had the vasectomy. He had it done pre witness days but come on!! How is any of this their business?? Why answer them instead of saying mind your own business.

Australian States & Territories Fail to Sign Up on a Redress Scheme For Victims of Child Sexual Abuse.

at a recent coag {,council of australian governments} meeting the subject/issue of states & territories to sign up for a national redress scheme to compensate victims of institutional abuse sexual and otherwise fell on deaf ears.. not one state or territory agreed to sign up .

not one.. i am sure the victims of child sexual abuse within various institutions not only the jehovah`s witnesses victims would be very disheartened to learn that.individual states and territories of government within australia do not support a national redress scheme to compensate victims of child sexual abuse .. the south australian govt.

to my understanding is they will never do so .

Are the J.W's reaching a "Tipping point"?

i haven't been to a meeting in 15 years but my mother and sister are hard as j.w's.

the brothers they are appointing elders are at best suspect like one guy from my old hall made elder,big time drug used before becoming a j.w his talks are all over the place and would have struggled to make m,s years ago but with at least 60 to 70 % of young ones leaving the pool to pick from is at best reduced.. 2 other recent elders both young and zero life experience both on benefits one not well at all falls asleep all the time.. the decent,kind elders mostly older and are decent people with alot of life experience are burning out fast as there are so few of them left like 3 per congro of 100 publishers.. then you have the rich elders who wouldn't ever think of inviting some poor older or mis-fit person out to the expensive placers they go to as they couldn't afford to go so they are above the r&f and the r&f get pissed off with them.

then we have the ones who have "put the kingdom 1st" who are now old worn out and barely getting by from welfare cheque to welfare cheque that are saying "the system should have been over many years ago" it's still here and they are struggling everyday.. then there are the pioneers who have a low payed reduced hour job that seem to think anyone who has anything is totally materialistic and looks down on anyone getting a new car buying a house ect.. along with the child abuse issues,the generation change,access to information the the g.b don't want anyone to know ,not to mention the issues around blood.. is there a tipping point coming????

I recently mentioned to a family member the hypocrisy of being able accept blood fractions but not give some blood, so the poor person who gave the blood for the use of fractions by the JWs is marked for destruction. They had no idea you could get a blood fraction much less know that the JWs are allowed to accept them.

They seem to just be going through the motions without a clue as to what it is they are supporting or meant to believe.

Engaged Couples Living Together

my question is this.

is it wrong for a jehovah's witness to allow an unmarried couple to live together under their roof?

same room, same bed, they are allowing full on cohabitation.

Bold claims since in the eyes of God we are all sinners and no one is without sin, even you.

As long as you make sure you are doing the right thing - no overnight guests, no cursing and trying to minimize your sinning - you needn't worry about unclean spirits whatever they are.

Perhaps your landlord is allowing the couple to stay as an act of love to her fellow man and helping them out in a hard situation and following the scripture In Matthew 7:1 and not judging them.

i can’t prove i am a better person because of it , but in some ways i can prove how it has damaged me.

The one that my mum would say is "a good relationship with God and the promise of everlasting life".

I don't think growing up JW necessarily means a good relationship with Jehovah if he in fact exists.

Growing up JW fosters following rules due to guilt trips and not logical reasoning. Rules set by men you will never meet and to whom you mean nothing. Rules that are no where to be found in the book of instructions supposedly left to us by God. Rules that will see you struggling to survive in the real world and leave you ignorant of the state of the world and how you could contribute to making it better.

Growing up JW makes you arrogant and intolerant and without compassion for fellow man and most of all judgmental about absolutely everyone.

Not at all what Jesus was, in whose steps we are meant to follow, if he did in fact exist.

An answer sheet!

Gone are the days of biblical discussion where you could answer with what you understood. Now they give the conductor an answer sheet for him to ensure the flock get the answers right according to what the borg want them to think.

Tor. It can be isolating but in our case we have much more association with like minded families than we would ever have had at school.

The homeschool community here organise excursions several times a week and if you were to attend them all you wouldn't get any book work done.

For my son being able to pick and choose which ones to take part in gives him a sense of being in control of his life and the excursions are usually educational and designed to meet a curriculum criteria as a bonus.

a question after my first JW meeting

i attended my first jw meeting recently.

first, i would like to say what i agree with about the jehovah's witnesses beliefs and practices.. 1. they don't consider israeli's as "god's chosen people" and they don't worship israel as some holy land filled with righteous jews (although there are some there) as most so-called "christians" (christian zionists) erroneously believe they are instead of the "hypocrites" and "vipers" that it is actually filled with.. 2. they don't celebrate "holidays" like easter and christmas which are, in fact, remnants of earlier pagan practices.. 3. they don't put nation before god and christ.

they don't believe in war or going to war because of some crazy government/cia secret agenda.

1. They consider themselves God's chosen people and only the JWs who attend the Kingdom Hall will survive Armageddon. 99.9% of the world's population are marked for destruction.

2. Easter and Christmas are out due to pagan links but wedding rings and shunning are acceptable even though pagan links exist.

3. Their Governing Body put themselves between you and God and Christ. No mention of a GB or faithful and discreet slave in John 14:6

4. Yes and they edit their Bible's to fit their control on the flock. See Micah 6:8 for example.

They pick and choose which bits are figurative or literal according to their current doctrine and how it best served to control the flock and keep them in the FOG (fear, obligation, guilt)

It is a prerequisite to think and act and look exactly as they say. Appearing before judges has nothing to do with it. Have you watched Judge Judy?

Until recently men were not allowed to have beards even though the good Lord gave them facial hair. Now they have an issue with tight pants. Ask them where these things are in their bible?
