an org myth debunked - by the book they claim to have a better understanding of, than other religions.wt14 11/15 p. 30 - who are the two witnesses mentioned in revelation chapter 11?.
"......the account refers to god’s anointed ones who took the lead during a difficult time of testing.. so in the fulfillment of revelation chapter 11, the anointed brothers who took the lead at the time of the establishment of god’s kingdom in heaven in 1914 preached "in sackcloth" for three and a half years.
at the end of their preaching in sackcloth, these anointed ones were symbolically killed when they were thrown into prison for a comparatively shorter period of time, a symbolic three and a half days.
You must be very keen to notice what the whole JWs missed collectively
i'm agnostic.
there could be a god, but i don't believe it's the god described in the bible.i grew up a jw believing in the bible.
after i left, i didn't want religion but was determined to be a christian on my own.. but things started to unravel.
I too had problems with understanding Noah's flood. How did Noah load over 8.7 millions species (some as pairs and others as pairs of seven) into such a small ark, in such short span of seven days? Seven days would mean 604800 seconds. That means in one second, how many species did they load?
Other things I could not digest was: Joshua could stop the sun, a star could come and stay over the house where Jesus was born ...

Bohm,
I agree with what you said: “The people whose opinion should be trusted are therefore most often atheists and non-experts who, free from the confines of scholarship, are the only people who can "see" (and accurately interpret) the few details of the evidence that has apparently evaded thousands of scholars and confirm that Jesus did not exist.”
For example, in the field service when someone asked me: “If Jesus really performed countless miracles, why none of them who were the beneficiaries of those miracles came in support for Jesus when he was tried under false charge—at least one of many who received resurrection from Jesus could have come forward to defend him, or to preach for him even after his death?
I could not give answer to him.

A teacher should be clear and precise, should not leave things for scholars to interpret in the way they like, says the Bible itself: “If the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?” (1Corinthians 14:8) Interestingly, Jesus’ own disciples were thinking of who will become first among themselves—something that is very opposite of being spiritual, hence were not in a position to grasp things clearly.

Jesus may not be a fictional character,
however, much of the things he purportedly taught could be fictitious:
· If you do something wrong with your eye or hand, cut/pluck it off (Matthew 5:29-30).
· Marrying a divorced woman is adultery. (Matthew 5:32)
· Don’t plan for the future. (Matthew 6:34)
· Don’t save money. (Matthew 6:19-20)
· Don’t become wealthy. (Mark 10:21-25)
· Sell everything and give it to the poor. (Luke 12:33)
· Don’t work to obtain food. (John 6:27)
· Don’t have sexual urges. (Matthew 5:28)
· Make people want to persecute you. (Matthew 5:11)
· If someone steals from you, don’t try to get it back. (Luke 6:30)
· If someone hits you, invite them to do it again. (Matthew 5:39)
· If you lose a lawsuit, give more than the judgment. (Matthew 5:40)
· If someone forces you to walk a mile, walk two miles. (Matthew 5:41)
· If anyone asks you for anything, give it to them without question. (Matthew 5:42)
Very few Christians, even fundamentalists, follow even one of these precepts, and yet they will tell you that Jesus is their role model (What would Jesus do?). Most of what Jesus is saying here is not practical, and if someone today was saying these things on a street corner, what would listeners consider him to be?.

according to christianity, the death of jesus was a miscarriage of justice.
so then, what if there was no so-called miscarriage of justice so that jesus was not put to death by the romans but he instead died a natural death?
would christians still receive the forgiveness of their sins and their hoped for salvation?.
Its logic goes like this:
If a perfect man is put to death prematurely for a cause that he doesn't deserve, then has already gained the right to live forever--but he has not used it, nor lost it.
This right is not for any single man to use because when Jesus was put to death, all the children that could have born from him also were put to death. Thus when Jesus was put to death, he gained right to eternal life for countless humans who do not have that right or who forfeited right to live forever.
This right to live for ever is transferred to the sinners.
Logic seems to be ok, but in the process greatest logic is lost--did'nt God almighty and all-wise have any other means to save sinners other this cruel method of asking his innocent son to undergo excruciating pain on behalf of others?
The idea doesn't befit God
after a century of learning and teaching, the dubs are no closer to understanding what jesus taught.. god's kingdom rules ch.
1 par.
9 how will god’s kingdom come?
Good thought.
Even disciples themselves have different concepts about Kingdom of God—some say it is within us, other say it’s external. Book of Revelation (along with some other writers) shows it is not within us, and it will come in lightning speed. Turn of events would be so swift that the Great World Power that had tremendous influence over the earth “is brought to ruin” as though in “one hour.” (Revelation 18:3, 10, 19) “One hour” signifies the speed with which things happen! Such a swift and unexpected destruction of a Super Power is now possible with the use of ultra modern EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) weapon which deadens all weapons of the target country leaving it in absolute black-out with its no electronic gadgets working! With one World Power gone, business community starts “crying and mourning.” (Revelation 18:11, 19) “Then shall be Great Tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now … If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive.” (Mathew 24:21, 22) This is a situation other parts of the Bible calls “Armageddon” in which rulers of “the whole world” suffer destruction (Revelation 16:14, 16) which will pave the way for the Kingdom of God to take over affairs of the earth.
Which one to believe--only time can tell us!
it’s been a while since i posted some thoughts of mine concerning the jehovah’s witnesses and the watchtower babble and trash society.
okay, i will be respectable and say it right, the watchtower bible and tract society.
i do, however, think about the doctrines quite a bit as well as the overall doctrines from christianity in general.
In some zoos, they try de-conditioning putting new-born babies of traditionally inimical species in one part of the zoo, and ensure that they never come in contact with their parents. And it is observed that all such animals live as friends in total peace—they do not know what enmity means.
JW system is all about conditioning. Fortunate are the ones who come out. When I came out, two elders came to encourage me to return to the fold.
I told them: 'You do not have the attitude of Jesus who did not go after those who left him' (John 6:66, 67) and they never came again.
