JWs obsession with negative points of others have more to do with Theory of Evolution (rather than with their Bible). From the earliest days, man's existence depended on his ability to detect and keep himself safe from unpleasant events and danger. Therefore, our brain evolved such that it could pay better and more attention to all unpleasant stimuli. This tendency then seems to have generalized to all stimuli that evoke negative feelings. So, whenever there is anything negative in others life they focus on it with all their attention and energy and in the process develop an obsession towards it.

An Obvious Omission in the J.W.'s Good News!

why do we preach about only one hope - living on earth?

The very first words Jesus used was about Heavenly Hope:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"

followed by earthly hope

"Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth." (Mathew 5:3, 5)

And now after 8 years of mess, people voted for a change. Here who is at fault is too obvious, yet party concerned is not willing to admit!

JW org built itself on the failed prophecies and false teachings of others. But now they find themselves in the same situation they were accusing others in the past. In fact, no religion has made such serious folly as JW org did with the year 1914 (something Newsweek magazine described as “the lie of the century), yet party concerned is not willing to admit!

The fundamental error JW org made seems to be this: they lost the overall picture that life as a whole is as good as it can be, the parts of life are as good as they can be, so we should love, or at least accept, every part of life. Every action or happening is like sprouting of a seed which happens because of many causes and forces coming together, hence there is logic in everything we see and do. In the overall perspective, everything in the universe has rational and logic attached to it. You cannot say dirty mud is bad and lotus is good because there is no lotus without dirty mud! In big picture, even atheists are God’s gifts to mankind because without them religious leaders would freely perfect their ego and wickedness, and mankind would have been reeling under the iron hands of religious bigots.

a few days ago, aron-ra posted a new video commencing what he promises to be a new series debunking the noachian flood.

he did this despite the fact that every adult should know it didn't happen, and yet many do.. i'd like to remind everyone what the insight book says: .

the genesis account of creation tells how on the second “day” jehovah made an expanse about the earth, and this expanse (called “heaven”) formed a division between the waters below it, that is, the oceans, and the waters above it.

There are some difficult questions if flood account is true:

1) 8.7 million species to be loaded in 7 days

2) Complete burden fallen on the lone righteous family (the wicked died within minutes)—something that should not happen when God Almighty directs matters

3) Flood did not cleanse the earth permanently, soon earth filled with violence again

4) China’s history remained untouched by Noah’s flood

5) Jesus had totally different picture about Noah’s flood and the reasons that led into it (Mat 24:36)

Disfellowshipping - Quid Pro Quo - Satan's Accusation

if under jw doctrine, satan's accusation is that a human serves god for the purpose of what he can get out of it, does the disfellowshipping arrangement, exercised to the degree that the governing body deem to be appropriate, support this charge?.

taking for granted the jehovah’s witnesses are god’s chosen organization; on the assumption that the angels (who apparently cannot read heart conditions) looking upon humanity who are making a stand for the issue of sovereignty , are unable to discern those who are in the religion because of their family and friends.

valid point indeed. If applied indiscriminately, everything people do will come into question. Even from those in the GB to those who zealously cooperate with elders do so because of privilege-mindedness--exactly what Satan theorized!

elders are leaving me alone. what to make of this?

i am a born in that goes back to the 1960's i am in a very zealous congregation with super dub elders.

i have been inactive for 3 years and only go to about 2 meetings a month.

i made my displeasure known about the overlapping generation b.s.

If you really doubt on any of the teachings, you are treated as irretrievable (from their point of view) and extremely lucky (from larger perspective)

It is not changing my position. For me to change position, I should have firmly taken a position for and against something. That is not the case with me. I take the whole universe with everything in it (including creationism and evolutionism …) as one whole, one flow of events, and in big picture, in totality everything looks nice. I worship God and yet support the cause the atheists stand for because atheists are the God’s gifts to mankind—without them the world would have been reeling under extremist religious leaders [Remember I brought the subject of evolution as two advantages of the simple illustration the Speaker used, not as my preferred/hated subject]

Even other evolutionary concepts such as adaptation, survival of the fittest imply competition. This too suggests that there is a natural justice—you reap according to your effort. Competition implies ego, and this negative traits of ego and its blame-game indirectly send out some good messages. Individuals and even organizations engage in blame game to the point that we feel that people are incorrigibly self-righteous. Why the reluctance to admit mistake? Because there is something pure and divine each person feels deep within himself which does not make him feel ‘it is ok committing something wrong and be comfortable with it.” This discomfort is the proof that we are somehow connected with God.
