Yes, I missed him. But then again, I'm not a very good shot.
...in the jwtalk thread covering the september broadcast re: "generation".. http://jwtalk.net/forums/topic/22665-september-broadcast/page-5.
poor neil, he comes on this forum, he gets hammered.. goes on the virulently pro-jw forum, gets hammered.. you'd almost think he was a troll.....no, couldn't be..... .
Yes, I missed him. But then again, I'm not a very good shot.
just relaxing with my morning coffee enjoying looking at the pictures fipper shared of the camping trip when the dreaded knock came.
of course the dogs beat me to the door followed by my daughter trying to catch them, she looks through the giant peep hole and waves me away saying "its them.
" i almost just walked away from the door when i saw the sweet face of a 5/6 year old little boy with his mom and dad and couldn't resist talking to them.. i opened the door and smiled and said jehovah's witnesses?
One of these days, I'd love to say something like this to the next JWs that come to my door:
"Would it shock you to know that there are at least 400 *known* JW child molesters on record at [the Canadian] Bethel? Think about this, the next time you go to a Regional Convention™ or Circuit Assembly™: There are up to 10 child molesters circulating freely among the Brothers™ and Sisters™ and their children, and probably trying to find a way to get close to a child and their family. Except for the Elders™ from their own Congregation™, nobody knows who they are. Wouldn't *you* want to know if the Brother™ taking an interest in your children is a molester?"
so mrs stumpy's mother is still in.
we feel it would not be in her best interest to wake her up at her late stage in life.
she has a good little circle of friends that look after each other and keep her busy and out of meddling in our lives too much.
Hopefully, the amount you and Mrs Stumpy are donating is ZERO.
Seriously, the WTS doesn't effing need money from elderly widows, or anyone else for that matter.
knowing that last week, tonight, is becoming the hottest topical show in the us, i thought i would try to point his show's attention toward the royal commision.the only way i could figure out how was to post to the hbo discussion board that is specific to the show.
here is the link to my comments:http://talk.hbo.com/t5/last-week-tonight-with-john/australian-royal-commission-on-child-abuse/td-p/499504.
John Oliver is taking a break until next Sunday's show, September 13.
There are quite a lot of comedic gems he could glean from the Royal Commission... we can only hope!
so the wtb&t$ have either intentionally or unwittingly exposed their hand in this mornings wt indoctrination article.. this is a direct quote from par.
"regardless of how long we have been in the truth, we must tell others about jehovah's organization.
" the question is, "what obligation does psalm 48: 12-14 place on us?".
"beautifying the Organization"??
Oh, I get it... LIE about how the Organization™ cares more about donations coming in than actually protecting children of JWs from predatory child molesters in their midst.
Invite unsuspecting families to join JWs in Worship™ of [Jehovah] The Organization™, when it has been established that they further abuse victims of child sexual abuse by forcing them to recount their abuse to a panel of Elders™, in the presence of their abuser, without an adult support person (such as a parent) present.
y'know... I think I'll pass on that. I'd rather scrub toilets in a leper colony than be responsible for directing innocent people to join that damned cult.
well it was a circuit assembly but basically the same thing.
imitate jehovah in your family using resources wisely was one of the parts.
they basically said don't buy a new cell phone so you can give more to "jehovah".
i'm going to tell you of a family i knew of when growing up as a jw.
she was a solo mother who had 2 daughters and these 2 daughters were absolutely stunning both physically and personailty wise.
i remember thinking at the time how commendable it was that such beautiful looking women would choose to stay in the organisation.
main question: what do you think would happen if jehovah's witnesses stayed away from the watchtower organization for 6 months?
instead of "us" staying in their world for 6 months.
personally, i think they would be like the amish youth on rumspringa- many to never return.. i came across a thread here, where the poster said that their parents told them to give jehovah's org 6 months.
The "give it 6 months" ploy works in reverse, too.
Despite all the warnings of Leaving The Truth™, that I'd be miserable, addicted to drugs and gambling, and committing adultery like crazy, I told myself that I could always go back if life started to fall apart once we started our fade.
There were no punitive lightning bolts directed at us.
It never occurred to me to start smoking, doing drugs or gambling, or being promiscuous.
Not once did any JW check in to see how we were doing, none of our Friends™ from our previous Congregation™, no family members, and nobody from the new Congregation™.
And best of all, our family was happy.
so when i was at luch today, my wife was in full cult mode.
she started in on me about us not being able to hang with other witnesses and when i go to the meetings with her that i don't talk with nobody nor pay attention and act angry.
i told her that i don't want to fight and i have better things to do than argue.
Let's break it down: She is "in love" with Jehovah, and now, Jehovah is your rival for her affection.
So what do you do when Ricky Suavé/Jehovah is luring your woman away from you??
The answer to that depends on whether or not you feel the relationship is worth saving. If it is, then you have to win her back.
When was the last time you brought home flowers for her?
When was the last time you had a date night or a weekend away?
Has she ever expressed an interest in doing some activity with you? Something like taking dancing lessons, going on a nature walk, taking a cooking class together; could be anything really. The point is, surprise her with something like that.
Jehovah isn't going to do any of that for her. Jehovah makes promises that he ain't never gonna keep. Jehovah keeps asking her to do stuff for him, but he never makes good on his promises. He never surprises her with nice things. He's a fake.
Start by doing something really sweet that she wouldn't normally expect - make breakfast for her tomorrow, complete with some flowers from the garden in a vase. If she wants to know why, just say something like "I understand how stressful this has been for you. I don't want to argue with you. I just want to be the best husband I can be." If she still wants to go to the Meeting™, tell her that you support her desire to do that. Would she like to go to the farmer's market after the Meeting™? Or for a walk around a museum? Or to a neat little café? Or just surprise her...
It doesn't have to be expensive or a grand gesture... something simple like a trip to the beach or a nature walk. Just spend quality time together.
