  i don't know what it means that donald trump's son-in-law's father (charles kushner) bought those buildings, but thought it was interesting..

  according to a jw contact, one of the speakers at the regional conventiontm stated that "for evolution to be true, two of the same kind would have had to evolve at the same time; one would have to be male and the other would have to be female, and then they would have to find each other".

  apparently the crowd had a good laugh over how evolutionists overlook such a simple "fact".. i mentioned that bacteria and viruses use asexual reproduction, and that many sea creatures / fish, etc.

  are hermaphrodite and do not require a sexual partner to produce offspring.. oddly enough, the conversation stopped there.

  JW sighting while shopping

  i was out today at the grocery store, picking up a few things for the weekend, when just beyond the pineapples, i spotted a jw lady i was once friends with.. i wasn't interested in engaging in conversation, so i just continued picking out fruit, when out of the corner of my eye, i see her look at me and recognize me.

  she looked like she was panicking, and then darted behind a pillar in the store, trying to hide from me!.

  my dd was with me and noticed what happened.

  while trying to find local listings for the investigation discovery program about the murder of kim anderson and her two children at the hands of her jw husband, i came across this listing.. the program is called final witness - airing at 7 pm on investigation discovery in canada.

  this program details the case of christian longo, a jw who murdered his wife and four children over a decade ago..

  so i'm re-reading a book that i first read in 1994, when i was considering leaving the jws.

  it's called when god becomes a drug - breaking the chains of religious addiction and abuse, by fr.

  leo booth (tarcher putnam, 1991).. on page 59 is a checklist of "the symptoms of religious addiction", and this was a complete a-ha moment for me when i read it such a long time ago.

  i'm on the jw.org website, looking at the publications.. i'm curious as to the books being used with the 'new' studytm, and the order in which they are studiedtm.. anyone still on the inside, can you help me?.

  Your Top 5 - Most Harmful JW Teachings

  we all know that the doctrine and dogma of the wts is completely false, so i'm not even going to include topics like "trinity" or "gehenna" or anything like that in my personal list.. but i'd like to see what other people list as their top five most harmful jw teachings.. #5. females in the congregation are inferior to males.. #4. you must override your personal conscience in favour of wts rules, even when you know it's wrong.. #3. shunning disfellowshippedtm and disassociatedtm individuals, without being allowed to form your own opinion or hear their side of the story, even when it is a family member or close friend, this teaching destroys families and results in far too many people taking their own lives from the agony of being rejected by the only people they have ever had relationships with.. #2. forsaking higher education, well-paid employment and planning for retirement.. #1. the no-blood rule has cost more lives since it was first introduced by rutherford than jonestown, 10 times over..
