Need Help with Blood Transfusion Illustration

please, who can provide an intelligent rebuttal to the following illustration?

i always thought it was bullet-proof:.

"if your doctor directs you to 'abstain from alcohol' would you be ok to have it injected into your veins rather than drink it?

A person can live without alcohol. Abstaining from it would not put a person's life at risk. Alcohol is ingested orally; it is not intended to be infused intravenously.

A person cannot live without an adequate blood supply. Abstaining from blood needed to maintain bodily function (for example, after a car accident where the individual loses 50% of their blood volume) results in hypovolemic shock and multi-system organ failure and the person dies. Blood can be ingested orally, by which it serves a nutritional value. It does not maintain its capacity to oxygenate the body once in contact with digestive enzymes. When infused intravenously, via blood transfusion, blood has the ability to oxygenate tissues that have been starved of oxygen during the episode of blood loss. It transports glucose and oxygen to the brain to sustain brain function during a critical situation in the person's life.

When faced with the dilemma of whether it is better to die while Keeping Integrity™ to the WTS or accept a blood transfusion and be considered tainted or be Disfellowshipped™ to save your own life, I like to refer to this scripture:

There is hope for whoever is among the living, because a live dog is better off than a dead lion. ~ Ecclesiastes 9:4 (NWT)

Ironically, Ecclesiastes 9:5 is a favorite among JWs and it astonishes me than most of them have never clued in to the context of the previous verse. "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten."

Blurring of genders

as sometimes happens at elders meetings with the co, he has a letter from the branch to read out.

this rarely is made available later so any policies have to be acted on from memory.

this visit a letter was read about blurring of the genders and in particular brothers dressing in a metrosexual style - tight clothing was mentioned again.

What about Sisters™ who display more masculine behaviours, like assertiveness, outspokenness and having masculine mannerisms? or maybe with unfortunate facial hair? or wearing culottes or a skort??

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when that happens...

Looking at the pics of Warwick... I'm chocked.

i am truly chocked and baffled by the number of volunteers they got for this project; especially in the states.

looking at one of their articles on the matter, they stated that a large portion of the printing work was delegated to other locations than ny, thus, they did not need as much space as they did in ny.

also, it was stated that operation cost in nyc were expensive.

It was galling to know I was paying for that....

I understand where you're coming from, I really do. I'm sure you realize that what an employee does with their vacation time is their business. They've earned it, according to whatever labour relations regulations apply in your jurisdiction. At least you won't have to endure any on-the-job preaching while they're away. ;-)

Why pay for labour when people are willing to do it for free, *and* procure a measure of prestige for themselves for being part of the construction project? It's not like the old days where any old JW could just walk onto a building site either for a Quick Build™ Kingdom Hall™ or Assembly Hall™ - now every person on the site must be vetted as to their skill set and their Spiritual Qualifications™.

If the WTS can get their labour at no cost, and materials at cost or donated, they will take it. It's part of their Take-Take-Take modus operandi.

As an aside, they seem to be far more concerned about the qualifications for anyone participating in a building project than they are ensuring that people coming in contact with children are safe to do so.

Studying™ with JWs for FIVE YEARS and still not Baptized™?

She's clearly disadvantaged in some way - either learning disabilities or lack of support in her education - the spelling mistakes and such. Doesn't talk about a partner, but does talk about her daughter - single mom? single mom with deadbeat dad? poor financial status = not enough moola for the Worldwide Education Work™?

She's gotta have some major Love Bombing going on for her to still want to be part of the JWs, even though they've told her at least once that she doesn't qualify for Baptism™. Maybe the Elders™ are holding that out like a carrot to keep her involved.

it seems likely that the watchtower is worried about its finances, given the downsizing, property schemes, and money-grabs we have been seeing over the last few years.

perhaps they suffered badly from the financial crisis.

for sure, there will be more expenses to come from child abuse payouts.

The only so-called "financial crisis" they have is of their own making. Ignoring victims of child sexual abuse and protecting predators is costing them, big time.

i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.

Just two weeks in our new home and the knock at the door happens!!

just relaxing with my morning coffee enjoying looking at the pictures fipper shared of the camping trip when the dreaded knock came.

of course the dogs beat me to the door followed by my daughter trying to catch them, she looks through the giant peep hole and waves me away saying "its them.

" i almost just walked away from the door when i saw the sweet face of a 5/6 year old little boy with his mom and dad and couldn't resist talking to them.. i opened the door and smiled and said jehovah's witnesses?

One of these days, I'd love to say something like this to the next JWs that come to my door:

"Would it shock you to know that there are at least 400 *known* JW child molesters on record at [the Canadian] Bethel? Think about this, the next time you go to a Regional Convention™ or Circuit Assembly™: There are up to 10 child molesters circulating freely among the Brothers™ and Sisters™ and their children, and probably trying to find a way to get close to a child and their family. Except for the Elders™ from their own Congregation™, nobody knows who they are. Wouldn't *you* want to know if the Brother™ taking an interest in your children is a molester?"
