Wrong Religion

we brainstormed a while back on this forum and pooled our knowledge on how to recognize false religion.

i think the list is worth reviewing and adding to if possible.

please feel free to correct and or add insights of your own to this list:.

There is a fine line here. If you pursue righteousness through your own works like the Jewish people did you will not attain it. Righteousness it's attained by faith, but once you have the faith you need to prove it by good works.

I would add a few things here:

"that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” ; You believe that God is one. What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith; however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though they could by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, just as it is written: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, And the one who believes in Him will not be put to shame.”

Even though we are saved by the four points you mentioned above, we also need to prove our faith through our works as well as witnessing to others. It has to come from within and doesn't have to be accounted for in front of other people, only before God.

And also we need knowledge in order to believe. And someone needs to pass on that knowledge.

for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? But how are they to preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? On the contrary: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.”

I remember reading this somewhere: If people love something they will tend to praise what they love, and then they will want to share it with others in order to feel fulfilled.

"Death/destruction is the punishment for sin in scripture, not eternal existence in mental agony"- I agree. The revelation is highly symbolic. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Hi Vanderhoven,

First question: they haven't been the Faithful and Discreet Slave for a long time now. If I say they have never been would be pointless for me to say that I am Jehovah Witness. I can also mention that most protestant denominations have enjoyed God's favour when they departed from "The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.” from Revelation 17. I am not sure whether they still are in that position.

Salvation comes by grace!

When someone receives God's grace needs to speak to the others so they may have the opportunity to receive it themselves. Not everyone is comfortable with it and we will respect their choice.

As for the Governing Body it is the bible who speaks about:

And if I am a master, where is My respect?’ says the Lord of armies to you, the priests who despise My name!
