Watchtower tried to make a connection with the Bible at the start of the rotation, but it was weak, SV:

Yes, it was weak, the changing of the chairmanship in the first Governing Body between sessions did not imply an ongoing rotation in that body, but then there was no mention of an "appointment until death" to positions in the early, model congregations either.

I merely wanted to point out how odd it is, that an arrangement, that would have served to broaden the base, and ferret out latent talent, would not be mentioned in a shake-up article like that.

I always thought that the intent was to underline the notion that the rank-and-file witnesses were NOT in the New Covenant; merely hoping to benefit by proxy h:

Wt hides the difference between the Kingdom and New Covenant. The new covenant is for forgetting/ forgiveness of sins, and it was even symbolised by the drinking of wine before there ever was a validation for the heavenly kingdom covenant at the anointing of the 120.

You are absolutely right "underline the notion". There is always a big chasm in the talks with the unexplained jump from the anointed kingdom heir partakers to the fact that the New covenant is with all, not just the kingly/priestly*** class.

*** In the model, the not so "new" Mosaic Covenant, the law covenant was with all, but there were separate covenants with the Judaic kings, and the Levitic priests. there was different covenants in the " type" too, the Old/New covenants were with all. drink, all of you.

After that wt study, I mentioned the missing past rotating arrangement to an elder, as a subtle hint, that he should volunteer to be rotated out of the perennial position he holds, because his hoarse voice has so changed with age, that many can not understand what he is saying. , not that it makes a difference anyway.

He was taken aback by the supporting fact, that the period of rotation was the most fruitful, and it's demise ushered in a real decline in membership. He did not want to put growth in the congregation, ahead of his perks.

The rotational arrangement was wrong, S V.
comment: It was wrong only from the standpoint of wt's goal to establish an iron-handed hierarchy. From the standpoint of the mag. studied, it would have broadened the base of skilled brothers with hands-on involvement but it exposed too many superfluous second rate holdouts., among other things.

It happened to us in the soft belly of another city, where a nude lady (of the night) answered the door in the morning, no problem for us single red blooded males, just lift your bible to the right heights, and you can read scriptures without even so much as getting a glance of the stark reality before you.

Using the bible as a blind, to hide the truth, just like the parent company.

This of course made the celebrants ineligible for salvation, because it contravened Jesus' stipulation in John chapter 6: "--Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no everlasting life--"

rendering of course the wt celebration a total redemption failure, proscribing both the bread and the wine.

My view is that the farce of rotating elder positions gave no evidence of scripture backing nor of Jehovah's backing. Laf:

Scripture shows changing chairmanship in the early congregation (see above), and if increase, and decrease*** is an indication of efficacy (if not the 2 J's backing), the compulsory limiting of the term of office really works, ask the Clinton's. In other words, enough is enough. applaud as they step down from the platform.

*** greatest jw number increase during rotation, greatest drop after cancelling of rotation.

s82: yes, the closest decimal point is 90. and have a realistic expectation to have >10 years more to go. and see several rotations out of undeserved positions.

wt is guilty of stymying the progress of the young by the programs the top forces on the ww "brotherhood". The bright local offspring that is doing wonders in advanced studies in high school and college, are still basically doing repeat bible readings, rote parts in the meetings. while the bullying boring old fogies drone on and on, week after week. makes you weak.

please read the context. even in Acts chapter 1, these first partakers still expected (not contradicted by Jesus) to have the kingdom restored to Israel, with them as promised rulers on earth, Further,

only the anointed (according to wt) have the heavenly hope, the partakers and 109 others became anointed only at pentecost, they were of the earthly class before that. right? interestingly,

All anointed, including Jesus, had the earthly hope (the one he sacrificed) before getting the upward call , the "spirit anointing" so to repeat:

At the last supper, the Anointed abstained, the Earthly Class partook. my, how times have changed .
