Remember no higher education in the organization, maybe that's why.

This probably sounds uppity. I'm saying it anyhow
by stillin inhas anybody else noticed a pattern that is here among us outcasts?
there seems to be, on average, a higher level of intelligence here than there is at the kingdom hall.
actually, intelligent conversation seems to be looked down upon among the witnesses.. also, the simple language skills found here seem to be above average compared to those among the witnesses.

Can anyone name a single incident when bethel has fed the poor ever ?
by Chook incharity is lacking from the house of god.
i remember reading once about some young pioneer sisters who needed emergency accommodation and where turn away from brooklyn because they weren’t special pioneers.
charity begins at home..

The only example I know is that when there are earthquakes or natural disasters, they say the organization helps others also.

Rhetorical Question From a Non-JW
by Brian J inso i was asked if "jehovah's witnesses feel they are the only ones who will be saved.".
he said "i thought you would say that" and showed me our own website:.
https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/who-saved/ .

Nice way to think about it. Just like this weeks Watchtower basically saying that baptism is the key to gaining salvation, without it you won't have salvation.

Thanks Giordano.
And DoC, no I haven't turned in a letter of DA or anything. But I understand where you are coming from, being confined from the world for my teenage years has made me want a lot. But I do plan on attending college after high school. I'm getting a job soon. I don't have car yet, still saving up. Thanks a lot !

Hey guys! How are y'all? For me, things are doing better, you could say. Ever since I been on here, posting, and whatnot, I have been even more enlightened, if that's the correct word. I've got so much help and advice from ones on this forum.
So life so far is getting better. I've got things falling in place, even though my grandmother says otherwise. Some things I could still work on. Since my grandmother knows about how I want no part of the religion, she basically is telling me that I am immature and a hypocrite because "I promised to do his will and I dedicated my life to Jehovah." She still tells me to read articles by the organization, just like this weeks watchtower article. Which actually says, "Baptism is a requirement for Christians, and it is an essential step to gaining salvation." Personally, there is a lot of things mentioned in the article that is weird and confusing, probably just mind-manipulating. Seems as the organization wants you to think the world is a hell hole with nothing good for you.
Some days my depression gets to me because I know I'm going to be shunned because of my decision. I was researching and found 'Religious Trauma Syndrome.' Whether it's a real syndrome or not, that is actually what i'm experiencing, even though I haven't left yet.

My belief in a lot of doctrines taught by the organization has withered. I have no belief in "Satan." No belief in the "Resurrection." Just to name a couple. I kind of have took on that personality of, "I'm here for a good time, not a long time."
293 days till I leave, basically almost 10 months.
Thanks for reading my drawn out 17 year old feelings, lmao.

Hey plato ! Me and you are in the same boat, you could say. I'm a 17 year old teenager as well. I honestly have gotten a lot of advice from this forum. It's not "apostates" in my opinion. These are some great people and very well educated.

$5.5 Million to be transferred to World Wide Work from Assembly Hall fund
by Sour Grapes ina letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.

Wait, so you are in Indianapolis too? So am I. When they read this letter on Wednesday night, I was confused. A new assembly hall was promised but now that hope is down the drain.

Conversation
by jdash inso this morning i had a conversation with my grandmother about going out in service.

So this morning I had a conversation with my grandmother about going out in service. Remind you I'm only 17. I tried to ask her why I had to go out in service if this isn't what I believe in and whatnot. She went on saying basically these are the rules for this house. I bought up being a fake witness, because why should I go preach and go knock on people's door telling them to believe this and that when I, myself don't believe in them. I didn't give specific reasons on why I don't so she used that saying stuff like "you haven't done the research and studying to believe this isn't the truth" something along that line. I wanted to bring some research I have done, but then she would've brought up going to apostate sites and whatnot. She said I was confused and I was just being a teenager.
So it ended and of course, because I'm still a minor and I'm forced, I went out in service.
She tried to use an example on me. She said " if you moved out here, which one of your friends house could you stay with until you're 21?" I didn't answer, because she didn't let me. Then she said, "If one of your friends needed a place to stay, we would let him until he can be on his own" or something like that. "That's because we are Jehovah's Witnesses and we are loving and caring." I wanted to say so many things about that but I didn't.
