Yep know the feeling.Tap tap tap, looking for flys on the wall anything to distract me,scribble on the pad while pretending to take notes while dad and my 6 siblings all sit at the front, tap tap, quick look at watch,Count how many letters in scripture of the month above speaker tap tap ,then all of a sudden now brothers turn to song number 10 house to house. What a crock.l guarantee when the weekly meetings were reduced to 2 most would have been over the moon with joy some woulda even lit a cigar or downed a bottle of vodka whilst others woulda thought thank god for that amen.Halaluya praise the lord amen to that. -

l had a favorite bible when l was 9 but burnt it.l was sick to death of being dragged along to meetings and made to give talks against my will. When my elder father asked me at the meeting where my bible was l proudly told him l burnt it in front of others out loud.Well ya shoulda seen the looks.l wish l had a video of it. -

'Worldly' man looking for a little more understanding...
by Verecocha insaw similar title in a google search so thought i'd read more and now simply have to share my experience if anything to hear that i'm not insane and it is that simple.. met and fell madly in love with a witness, and her with me.
what began as love at first sight turned into a 6 year relatiomship which simply ended very bluntly.
there were many painful twists and turns along the way, first from her inability to leave her husband, then my mistake in finding someone else as i simply couldn't take the pain of her coming and going with such simplicity, but in the end she got a divorce and suffered many consequences within 'the truth', and i sorted my issues which were many and admittedly dug with my own hands and stupidity in trying to protect a young girl who had done no wrong in this long affair.. eventually we found ourself on what i believed to be the home straight.

l went through a similar situation and at the time it was heart breaking for me.Later on the penny dropped and l realized how fortunate l was to not get involved with a person like this.Try walking in her shoes for a day and you will understand what l mean.Put it in the to hard basket and move on for your own sanity and self preservation.Someone else will come along one day. good luck. -

New Converts: When Does It Start?
by Cold Steel injohnny normal is watching television one day when he hears a knock at the door.
answering it he sees two jehovah's witnesses clutching bibles; and one a brief case.
over the next few months things are going well.

Im sick of my life
by BlackWolf insorry but i really feel like i need to rant right now.
recently my dad was made an elder so my family has been doing a lot more "theocratic" activities lately.
every morning i wake up and put on my itchy dress and stupid makeup and heels and then pretend that i love what i'm doing and that everybody is my friend when in reality i feel horrible and all the other teenage girls at my hall hate me for some reason.

Howdy blackwolf.l was the black sheep in the family during my teens even burnt the bible when l was 9 in rebellion to my elder father.l hated the meetings and was so relieved when he said l no longer have to go when l turned 15.Looking back it wasnt so bad.Had a warm bed food tv etc. When one considers the billions of people that are malnourished and living in poverty things could be a lot worse for you.lt wont always be like it is at the moment. There is light at the end of the tunnel.Try and make the most of your youth and keep positive.Your mum and dad do love you and they are only doing what they feel is best for you even though you dont see it that way.Time will pass quicker than you think especially if you can preoccupy yourself doing stuff you like doing.Theres always somone to talk to in here day and night. You will be happy one day just hold on.

How the Bible disproves the JWs' 1914 invisible presence doctrine.
by Island Man inwatchtower teaches jws that christ's presence began invisibly in 1914. they also teach that the start of christ's presence coincides with the start of the last days.
whether you believe in the bible or not, watchtower claims these teachings come from the bible.
so does the bible actually agree with them?

lt never ceases to amaze me how easily jehovahs witnesses go along with whatever the governing body says.lf they say jump they all say how high. They are like trained fleas in a box. -

The Irrational Psychopath Landlord
by The Marvster inwell after a few years of lots thinking, questioning everything, and deconstructing of jw logic, i keep coming up against some problems.
though i probably consider myself an agnostic nowadays, one of the conclusions i keep coming back to is, if there is a god, looking at the way nature is structured, for example the predator-prey system that is indispensible to the survival of organisms, he is unlikely to be the same loving guy that's described in the bible (could he not have come up with a more compassionate system of survival in his limitless intelligence).
then again sometimes the actions described in the bible make him look like the description in the title of this thread... jw's definitely didn't help much with their logic.

…7Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra, And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. 9They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea.… yer right and l suppose spiders and mosquitos will be trained not to bite as well. What a crock of frog shit. And pigs will fly as well. -

Even the Overlapping Generations isn't an original concept
by paradisebeauty into my surprise, i found this: .
the overlapping generations model is an economic model .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/overlapping_generations_model.
if those people from wt are inspired, why can't they at least come up with something original .....
