  breaking-up sucks.

  i'm going back to clean my kitchen, waking up this morning gave me a straight-out attack of cleaning desire.

  i lost that desire, but since my entire kitchen is covered in cleaning-soap, i cannot really stop it.

  "Congratulations" - WHY?

  why is it a social custom to say "congratulations" to a guy when his wife/gf has had/is having a baby?.

  what has he done to deserve the sentiments?

  all he's done is have an orgasm and spurt some semen into her?

  Everytime I have heard ' Congratulations ' to anyone in conjuction with the news of a pegnancy, the actual words used have been "Congratulations to the two(or both) of you"

  Sometimes this has been sincere, sometimes just a ' social pleasentry'

  I dont see how the words used are such a big deal, most times when speaking, people make the assumtion that others will ' fill in the blanks', and just use the word 'congratulations'

  I guess this world is not ready for brevity.

  It was just that I heard that congregations have to pay for kingdom halls, which are then signed over to the society, I thought they may do the same sort of thing here.

  call me sceptical but this is just a scame to get money (id & passport = 77) and will be abused by the powers that be.

  it will not help fight crime, terrorism or anything else.. why have fingerprint info on my card?

  aren't the ones on the end of my fingers good enough?!

  the most useless work a jw can do is preach!

  the watchtower society said that every baptized person, whether they be male or female, child or adult, is a minister!

  and the society says every minister must do a "life-saving work" and "preach the good news of the kingdom".

  Its just my stand, remember that.

  I remember Scoob Everyone has a stand somewhere, its cool.

  My point though, and my reason for posting to this thread having never been a JW, is that the bible, or the JW interpretation of the bible,(or anyone else's) could easily be based on the imperfect memories/reasoning, of imperfect men.

  Remember, even ' gods channel ' has admitted many times that they are imperfect men.

  So.........the instruction to preach to the world, could be based on a false memory/reasoning, as could the method of that preaching.

  There is more to this discussion than what the organisation interprets, what that interpretation is based on is also part of the equation.

  Enjoy your cheese on toast (one of my favourites) and sleep well.
