The apostle Paul outlined this clearly to the Corinthians: "I want you to know that the head of every man is the Chrisi in turn the head of a woman is the man in turn the head of the Christ is God." -1 Cor. 11:3.

But hasn't the WT said that the NT is directed at the annointed?

Doesnt that change things for the rest, after all, in the OT women were sometimes spiritual judges over the nation of Israel.

Cutting of BS following WT plan: No more personal study or research!

since it seems the cats out of the bag on the book study being eliminated from small groups at homes, i feel it ok to discuss the "why" of the society's actions on this manner.

many seem to be confused as to why the wt would eliminate another evening of busywork.

some see it as a loosening of the riens on the wt's part to let the congregation breathe.....i see it as the complete opposite....i see it as another control tactic, one that has been in the works for a while.

Everyone knows of the now infamous September '07 Our Kingdom Ministry box with the small paragraph pretty much banning all independent research of the Bible, other translations, the original Greek & Hebrew, etc with the exception of WatchTower publications.

I am not, nor ever have been a member of any religious group or organisation but I have read this thread with interest, and also your wifes pots/threads.

Something in your first post leapt out at me as I read and I would like to ask a couple of questions about it, if I may.

you wrote;

So who, in your opinion would judge your wife? The Elders? You? Other JW's? or someone else?

And why would you believe they have the right to judge her?

10 Years on…

I am confined to the house now because the chickens have bred so prolifically they have taken over the yard, no room for me to walk, also I am very hungry because the foxes have also bred and have filled up my garden and they and the chickens have eaten the plants and new ones cannot grow because they trample the seedlings, there are so many of them.

The house is full of spiders and cockroaches; nothing dies in the new system.

I don’t know what to do except sit because the timely instructions from the Faithful and Discrete Slave cannot get through due to the overcrowding.

A revelation for me: the revelation of Revelation

i was reading the thread about revelation, and some research i did on the beginning of chapter 10 of the apocalyptic book came to mind, so i thought i'd share it here in case anyone's interested.. as an ignorant jehovah's witness, i had no idea of the real literary structure of the book.

the watchtower society makes out the mighty angel in 10:1 who stands on the sea and earth is jesus christ, and that the contents of the little scroll he hands john is a prophecy to be fulfilled after 1914. to grasp the simple truth that the strong angel in 10:1 is the angel alluded to in 1:1, and that the little scroll is actually the scroll which has been progressively unsealed in 6:1 to 8:1, was very satisfying.

it describes the revelation being given to john, which contains the main content of the prophetic work!.

i doubt youll even read this letter since it comes from your son, a son youve abandoned over your religious views, but i wanted to write you one final letter to see if theres any hope that you can come to your senses as far as this religion goes and we can renew our relationship.

im doing this because i care for you and mom deeply and feel very much distressed that you two refuse to see anyones opinion as being factual other than your own when it concerns the jw religion.

You are 3% Jehovah's Witness!You have what Jehovah's Witnesses call a "rebellious spirit" and a "bad attitude". Even if you became a Witness, you would be a bad one. You'd probably talk to disfellowshipped people instead of shunning them like you're supposed to. You wouldn't blindly agree to every new teaching of the Watchtower. The only friends you would have at the Kingdom Hall would be the teenagers that think you're cool, and the other "rebels". The Kingdom Hall is not in the cards for you.
