Thanks for the link, so it seems that, at the end of the paper trail, the society DOES own all the kingdom halls, it just doesnt look like it on the surface, very devious.

It was just that I heard that congregations have to pay for kingdom halls, which are then signed over to the society, I thought they may do the same sort of thing here.

Will the bethelites have to take out a loan from the society for building, then deed the property back to the society?
call me sceptical but this is just a scame to get money (id & passport = 77) and will be abused by the powers that be.
it will not help fight crime, terrorism or anything else.. why have fingerprint info on my card?

Just about everything the government (any government) does is a scam to get money.

My point though, and my reason for posting to this thread having never been a JW, is that the bible, or the JW interpretation of the bible,(or anyone else's) could easily be based on the imperfect memories/reasoning, of imperfect men.
Remember, even ' gods channel ' has admitted many times that they are imperfect men.
So.........the instruction to preach to the world, could be based on a false memory/reasoning, as could the method of that preaching.
There is more to this discussion than what the organisation interprets, what that interpretation is based on is also part of the equation.

The bible IS part of this discussion.
To base what the JW's do on bible precepts, is to automatically give complete validity to the bible, and the JW's interpretation of it.

we only have a pattern to follow from history.

Dont make the mistake of confusing what people reportedly said and did in the bible as History.
Just look at todays situation, the Jessika Lynch story for example, even with our world wide reporting techniques, and instant information, we dont REALLY know what happened, what was said and done, and that was only months ago, so how can we be expected to know what people REALLY said and did thousands of years ago?
