  Ever notice a lot of JWs don't have pets?

  i was told by several elders to not get a dog when i was looking for one in the 80s.

  the end was close and we needed to focus on the preaching work.

  i know some have pets but a lot don't.

  Technology can help but there nothing on the horizon that will take the place of fossil fuel. You can not fly a passenger plane on sunshine or batteries. Its still not easy to run a Tesla across country like you can a gas or diesel car. Tech can not save the planet if the population keeps on growing. 1860 one billion people just over 100 years later and its 8 billion. This is nuts. We are stretching known farming techniques to the limit as it is. We need petro chemicals to keep insects at bay and as fertilizer to produce BPA just to keep afloat as it is. Genetic modifications has helped enormously and people who whine about it have no idea how many would starve if we did not use this. Not to mention its used by nature and man for thousands of years. Grafting is Genetic modification. No one wants to address the fact that there are already too many people on the planet as it is. And the idea that it will plateau and go down is not honest IMO. A graph of population over all of human history, where has it ever went down?

  Amazing Read,Check this out!

  currently reading : 30 years a watchtower slave.

  cannot put it down.. this book pre-dates ray franz book "crisis of conscience", written from early 20th century, shortly after the jehovah's witnesses were formed.

  the author describes the original true background of the watchtower society as a multi-million dollar publishing company.

  I got this book handed to me while out in service in the late 70s. We took it to the local elder and he confiscated it from us and told us Schnell was an apostate and would call the police on brothers in service to get them arrested so he could bond them out and be a hero.

  True she is loosing her spin. The shine is coming off. Not to mention she is nothing but a parrot who spits back only what she is told not what she came up with through experience or investigation. She obviously had OCD and locks on to something and can not move on. Her father is a radical eco nut and she has been unduly influenced by his radicalism.

  If anyone is angry its the twit Gerta. She is the one yelling we will never forgive you. LMAO. I am not angry but she is autistic and that is a mental illness that make people not able to evaluate the world properly to different degrees. She is also a twit. Def is a foolish or silly person.   She is autistic and she is a twit that thinks she knows way more than she does. Its not an attack if its a fact. She has absolutely no life experience and thinks that just stopping the use of fossil fuel is as easy as turning off a light switch. She has not idea that she would not be living or doing what she does every day if not for oil and other fossil fuel. Idiots who follow her are just as brain dead. The last thing we need is to follow children on how to run the world. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea has oat meal for brains.

  Oscar Nominations for 2020

  yes, folks, it will soon be that time of year when obscenely wealthy actors, script writers and directors will collect their oscars and give little thank you speeches, strangely working in social commentary and/or extinction rebellion propaganda.. i know it's a huge back-slapping exercise that many people (including me) find off-putting.. but, there is one nomination that i've got my eye on and hope will win its category.

  its nomination is for best cinematography and the film is the lighthouse (2019), directed and co-written by robert eggers.

  i haven't seen it yet but it's on my 'to see list', as i really liked eggers's previous (debut) film, the witch (2016).. i'll definitely buy the lighthouse when it comes out on dvd.
