  a mother and her four young daughters — the oldest of whom was 6 — died in a residential fire wednesday morning in des plaines, il.

  officials said.. four young children and one adult were killed in a house fire in the 700 block of west oakton street in des plaines, jan. 27, 2021.. .

  after 45 years as a jehovah's witness, this tragic story really has me really questioning if there really is a god?

  With all due respect, that is not an answer, that is a pre-supposition. The OP already pre-supposes God.

  Then the question should entail why has god let mankind suffer for over 2000 years when he sent his only begotten son to cure and rid humanity of its troubles and perils ?

  Could it possibly be that this son of god Jesus Christ was a man made fictionalized story albeit a heart felt appealing one ?

  Since Jesus himself said when speaking to his then followers that many of you will not experience death.

  So all these things were to occur at the time of him speaking.

  As far as we know none these things occured, all of his followers died.

  Is lying a righteous virtue ?

  some republicans are clearly abandoning trump and of course the democratic press has been saying trump is done!

  Oh yes most certainly, even if does try and run for the Presidency again he certainly wont be receiving much of the Republican party support..

  People who voted from him in this recent election will now never vote again for the guy after the disaster at the Capitol.

  I confidently doubt he would even try and run again.
  

  He's most likely going to make an effort to sustain his business ventures and back away from politics all together.

  what term would you use for a governor who enacts policies that directly cause the deaths of well over ten thousand and then covers up the death count for fear of prosecution?.

  The truthful and honest answer to this posed question is that there never was a god or gods as it were, humanity has had an inherent ignorance which created gods through are imagination, hoping and pleading for help to these supposed supernatural deities has carried on for millenniums.

  No supernatural deity has so far intervened to date.
  

  Terrible things happen to the best of us, as well the worst of us, this is the reality to which we must endure.

  It really is up to us to cope and endure what problems we face.

  as a jw did you have a pioneer sister/elder's wife who was the biggest busybody, self righteous, arrogant pus in the circuit?

  who would look down on others and treat people like crap.. without giving to much away, i experienced one that knew everyone in circuit.

  and if she or her husband saw or heard something they didn't like it was " you know what the bible says" regardless if it was in there or not.

  Rm: what do you mean self- righteous. It is not their fault that the deity appointed them.

  The reality they self anointed themselves as god's chosen ones, which also helped in selling the literature they published.

  Those certain men made their own importance out their own ascribed apostasy.

  Well maybe the other known deity known for lying and deceiving had a hand in the endeavors of those men.

  i know a lot of witnesses that drink a lot!

  secret sins people would confess to the elders were masturbation, dating and touching certain areas and anger issues.

  some fathers/husbands looked like model figures until you heard from the family that the dictator ms were horrible at home in more ways than one..

  The whole slew of possible sins such alcohol abuse, corrupt business affairs, adultery, child abuse even murder.

  Then you get on the sins of the top GB leaders and their onerous false doctrines which end up killing and destroying people's lives.

  How about the fact that you have to make a personal vow of servitude and loyalty to the GB members of the organization (GB) who they now claim are the Faithful, Discrete Slave.
