Looking Back Were There Any “Apostates” In Your Congregation?

i remember knowing some jws that expressed their own personal viewpoints regarding what a scripture meant that was at odds with society teachings.

in the 60 and 70’s, that was pretty much tolerated until the great purge in 1979 and 1980. as a matter of fact, it wasn’t unusual for witnesses to get together and discuss personal questions and viewpoints they might have.

it wasn’t unusual to send letters to the society asking what was considered the right or wrong view.

After 1980 , many Witnesses were more secretive and discreet about questioning Watchtower rules and understanding.

I would have to agree with that Minimus

There appears to be a purge of weak thinking apostates by the GB heads around that time.

More enforcement to distance oneself from DFed ones as well.

This could have come about or caused by the disappointment of 1975 effecting Bethel and throughout the organization when there was an abrupt drop in active participating members.

People were starting to ask questions or critique doctrines such as 1975.

The GB heads were pressed to take action, which resulted in more DFing for apostasy.

They say they are god's selectively chosen men governing over all of earths inhabitants.

Expect to see a lot of video presentation of violence toward mankind once the new video production facility is finished up and running.

Do old time present day active JW`s genuinely believe in overlapping generations ?

for the life of me i can not come to terms with old timers in the "truth" who could swallow this interpretation of scripture about an overlapping generation .. when jesus spoke about "this generation" .

are their any real bible students among younger ones any more ?.

here are 3 bible scriptures that confirm a generation is approximately 40- 50 years long give or take a few years .. 1. matt:1 :17 abraham born 2016-18 bc jesus born 2 bc approx.

The overlapping generation doctrine was also a means to validate the men who are now the JWS GB anointed, in practice retaining their most high righteous and powerful position within the organization.

In essence they are the overlapping generation.

So then the anointed woman get converted to men when they reach heaven. ?

The bible says that the 144,000 are to by virginal men, so why didn't the WTS say that and make that part of their doctrine describing the anointed ones ?

You really cant trust the men who run the WTS.

Dispelling fear to the ignorant and gullible controlled members is what the WTS does and really has been doing for over 100 years, at the end it keeps people sustained to their control and exploitation.

Ignorance and fear are powerful tools to manipulate and control people.

The fact is when all the GB men today are dead and gone replaced by new men at the helm of the Watchtower Corporation kingdom, newly twisted up doctrines will most likely occur.

You can bet on it.

The overlapping generation doctrine was created to uphold and keep alive 1914, which in itself has no scriptural support, 1914 in itself was an apostate false doctrine.

Why is it now that all the angels and 144,000 anointed are white haired men in their 60's ?

What about the women 144.000, there are few of those too, where are they in this picture ?

Is it because god is also an old dude ?

I thought once you go to heaven you stop aging.

i came across this older wt which i assume c t russell wrote the article.

unlike modern practitioners of numerology who calculate a value for each letter of the alphabet, russell simply adds up the number of letters in each word to arrive at [horror of horrors] 666.. and he lists there on the page each one of the organisations that must accordingly be part of the great harlot with 18 letters [in english] in their titles, because 18 is clearly 6+6+6 or 666!

strangely he hasn't stopped to think about another possibility for an 18 letter title.

C T Russel was a delusional nutter who thought he must be right in his investigations and acquired theology involving bible interpretations because he self identified and labeled himself as god's given messenger to the people.

We now know his special ordained message was wrought with ignorance and twisted delusions.

When he died he left a richly backed publishing house ($$$) called the Watchtower Corporation and a new religion the Jehovah's Witnesses was spawned by an aggressive unscrupulous businessman/lawyer J Rutherford.

8 million people today still think this corrupt publishing organization is directed and solemnly chosen by god Jehovah as his earthly organization and are subjectively loyal to it.
