If he had problems the JW response would be to "pray harder" and "leave it in jehovah's hands, he'll take care of it."
Guess he took care of it for good it would seem.

pondering over this dilemma:.
lets just say, for arguments sake, the report in genesis about the first humans is not an allegory, but a true event:.
watchtower teaches, that adam sinned, because he used his free will to disobey.. god grants free will to his human creation, because he wants them to serve him out of love.. ok, good, but i give an example: i meet a girl, tell her, she is free to love me, but if not, i kill her.. would you call this free will ?.
I agree it makes no sense. If you told a 15 year-old not to eat something and that he or she will die if the food is eaten, then it's a good bet that they won't. Add to that we're supposedly the MOST IMPERFECT line of people, being so far from Adam and Eve. With that in mind, Adam and Eve were PERFECT. So how could she be 'deceived' by a talking snake??? Were talking animals common then? Are there any women here that care to admit that if the Geico gecko came up to them and started talking that they'd believe what it says? Maybe I just have a different idea of 'perfect'

i drink single-malt scotch, natch.
bts.
I don't see gasoline on that chart, foo!
If she'd take his nickname then that would be one long nickname.
years ago i know talks to be accurate, authoritative, corroborative and encouraging.. however, now that watchtower has change (including new light) tactics applied so extensively, things seem to be worsening instead of getting better.. the 45 minute talk is frequently discouraging and prone to inaccuracy in non-scriptural facts.
i hate to see the few means of jw secular education is done by careless misinformation.
it mostly attacks the world and sometimes reflects the overzealous opinions of the speaker; for example, demonizing entertainment and the internet.
If you read the KM, you get the impression they think congregations are mentally challenged, along with the elders.
Judging by the logic that's been used on me lately on why we're so close to The Endâ„¢, I can't say my opinion of the congregation and elders is that much different...
pls, wish me luck in my marriage, and give me some advice on how to make it a success..
I hope she has a will.
Guess he's MIA on page two because he's checking on the will...
i was prompted to join this site as i got a knock on the door a couple of days ago.. no, when i went door knocking 20 years ago - although admittedly i was a child - the sales patter went like this.
ahem... "hello.
we are speaking to you today to tell you about the watchtower and awake.
JW: Sorry? (slightly taken aback. This is not in the script).
LOL
i haven't been to the board in a while, but i want to share this.
there is a scientific explantion for some (not necessarily all) ghost sightings: carbon monoxide poisoning.
soon i realized that there was no staircase behind the wall, only the thickly carpeted front stairs on which no footsteps could be heard.
I ain't 'fraid of no ghost.
at our service meeting it was announced that there is a change in the manner in which magazines are now to be delivered to the congregations.. up until now, magazines were sent to each kingdom hall via ups.
in years past magazines were sent to each congregation po's home address via ups.. going forward, magazines will be sent only as far as the assembly hall.
it is the responsibility of each kingdom hall to send brother(s) twice a month to drive out there, pick up the magazines, and return.. this of course saves a little bit of money for the society - shipping larger packages to fewer addresses will cost less.. however, what about the expense to the local congregations?.
Yep my assemblies were always in sports complexes or civic centers or high school gymnasiums. I've never been in a JW assembly hall, although I've known there are several but none are closer than ~5 hours from me.
after reading on the way out's thread about his mom explaining the generation overlap to him it kicked this idea into my head to make this thread .
i thought it would be helpful to see if anybody here has had jw relatives or friends try to explain this " generation overlap " theory to you as a faded or inactive witness and what happened in the conversations.
so please feel free to post your experiences.
no idea since they haven't talked about it. I know I'm not going to bring it up since I'm afraid my head will explode like a pumpkin blown up with a stick of dynamite.
