  we actually has a study with a disabled elderly couple living in a trailor.

  it was wall to wall filth, rat infested and smelled awful.

  i was a child, but mom and dad brought me along anyway.

  I went on a study with a woman and there were roaches EVERYWHERE. Well, the next day at the Thursday night meeting a roach came running out from the lapel on my sportcoat abnd I caught it out of the corner of my eye and smashed it on my sportcoat. Good thing I hated that sportcoat but I never went back to that study's house....

  'Disciplining' Children during meetings

  once at our local kh, the families were told if they needed to 'spank' their children they needed to do it inside the hall for now on and not take the child outside.

  apparently, some neighbors reported one of the mothers for child abuse and called up the hall and told the elders that if they see it again they will call the police.. .

  by no shocker the mother was still able to keep her baby...

  Same thing used to happen at our hall so the congregation got a stern talking to and told to make sure to beat the shit out of the kids inside the hall and not outside the hall because it might bring reproach on joe hoba's good name

  What Went Thru Your Mind While Sitting at The Meetings?

  i used to listen but not really.

  i'd look at the platform/speaker stand, look like i was paying attention, get antsy, and find another elder to "discuss" something ith.

  i just got to the meeting----right before it was to start and if the talkative po decided that his last part was going to go overtime, i'd put on my coat and look at the big clock on my way out in front of everyone and leave for the local bar.

  i found out from my ''worldly'' aunt, 4 months after she had already left.

  she's back in town for the week.

  the 3/1/06 wt questions from readers is discussing 1 cor 14:33,34 and explains the phrase "keep silent".

  after the usual claptrap and disclaimers (like how sometimes women have to substitute for baptized men in a congregation setting) - it concluded by saying women keep silent by "not raising argumentative questions that could challenge the authority of those who teach.

  " how do the women swallow this stuff and still feel grateful for "rich spiritual food"?
