Same thing here. I've talked with some witnesses that said about the same thing. I know they've had some doubts but they are just trying to jam it into their head all the crap from the magazines and platform so that they can convince themselves that it's true because they've invested too much into it and have nowhere else to go.

The Capable Wife....
by LivingInReality inright before i got disfellowshipped in 2002 i was sitting in the kingdom hall listening to an elder give a public needs talk.....and this one floored me.. so the brother starts talking about what it means to be a capable wife...of course all of the scriptures and regular bullshit we've heard over and over....but then he goes on to say...."so what i'm saying sisters is.... to save money to help with the household you can make a garden and get food from that to make your dinners.... you can learn how to sew so that you can make your own clothes instead of spending money to go and buy them at expensive department stores.... and you could look into your circumstances to see if its feasible for you to quit your jobs to stay home and run the household....blah blah blah.." i can't much remember the rest because my head had blown up to the size of jupiter with the hot steam i was about to let go in the middle of the talk.
i decided it was better to get up and go... and i did.
i only mention this now...because (now divorced from my ministerial servant husband of 10 years), i am a single mother that has worked her ass off not only in the secular world, but now as a mother raising two children, getting my college degree and maintaining every avenue of the household responsibilities on my own.

my family were in the field service one saturday morning.. my little brother did nothing if not piss my dad off as much as possible, not sure if it was on purpose or just a personality clash, but anyway.. i'm pretty sure little bro would not get out at a door and was also possibly doing something mischevious, i.e.
drawing funny yet inappropriate comics to entertain himself and his sisters.. so my dad demands that my bro get out.

I was with a friend at the KH. We would all congregate at the front of the hall by the stage. Well, it was just me and one guy left. We were both about 12 or 13. Well, I mentioned a fish stick and then jokingly called it a fish dick. Well he laughed and yelled "A fish dick!!!" and then acted like it stabbed him in the uh rod and tackle and he moans out really loud. OMG I lost it. Well, I saw his dad (a MS) notice this going on and he rushes up to the front like Superman heading for a phone booth. He grabs his son away and asks him what did he just do and that was all I caught as he rushed him away from the bad association (me) Well, I didn't want to hear any crap so I made up excuses and didn't go to meetings for a month afterwards. Never did hear anything about it.

yeah I turned myself in, too. They started wanting more detail on what I was doing with, ehm, her, but I wouldn't tell them. I wasn't baptized though so it didn't result in a big thing, plus I can wiggle my way out of anything better than just about anyone. *puppy dog eyes* It's often been said I could sell a polar beer a freezer, plus the extended warranty.

Did your JW social life only consist of meals at a friends home?
by truthseeker ini know many here who have had good and bad jw social experiences.
some went camping, hiking etc, went to the beach.
some had no social life at all in the org and some had congregations where nothing ever happened socially.. i know of one sister, who has since left, who complained that the only thing witnesses did when they got together, was share a meal.. now, there's nothing wrong with sharing a meal.

JW social life?? Now there's a contradiction in terms! So many times something fun would start and then the Circuit Overseer would come and shut it all down, especially with the young people. For example, some were getting together and going to the drag strip and he shot that down real quick. We used to have skating parties till the congregation bitch just couldn't STFU and had to bitch and moan because several came dressed as clowns so that was the end of that. OMG CLOWNS ARE FROM TEH DEVIL Can't have all the young people having fun now can we? Nope! No siree! Have to make sure they're all bored to death and don't know what they're missing out in the real world so that they can just sit there at the hall and have the daily triple pounder double sleezeburger non-happy meal hand-fed to them from the stage!
