  Can "Born-Into-Its" Ever Be Happy?

  just wondering....take a 40 year old male ('cos he's an ex-elder!

  ) who's been born a dub.

  he becomes disenchanted with dubdom and eventually decides to leave.

  In all seriousness, I was born in stayed in until I was in my early 20's, never made MS or elder, but I have had no problem being happy or getting over my Jdub days. I was a good Jdub kid, I never had any problems that the elders needed to talk to me, not even until my exwife and I split up. So I had no problem. But, now I question everything that is told to me that I am suppose to accept on "Faith" faith is not a reason, it is nothng more then an excuse for something no one can explain, so I guess that is the only thing a I hold over from my Dub-Days.

  My mom and dad were sent to Burney to "Help where the need was greater" (what a farce) anyhow we ended up helping start the congregation in Fall River (However I am not sure it is there now).

  Was Jesus and Mary Magdeline married?

  for those of us who still believe in the bible - i recently read the novel, "the da vinci code".

  great work of fiction but i was wondering if anyone ever heard of the plot's basis.

  I have never read the book you mention, but Ihave read the idea that Jesus and Mary were married or at the least living in "Lust" even one of the gnostic gospels suggests this idea by the apostles mentioning that Jesus loved Mary more then them, and his reply was he loved her differently, not more. I also have read a study about the place you mentioned in France and it is quite unknown what actually happened there I have a site with the report bookmarked on my home PC, I will look it up and post it here. There is also another theory that suggests that Jesus moved to Babylon after the cruxifiction, and that he really didn't die he was only knocked out and was revived by his followers, also another theory is that it was not Jesus that was killed it was his brother Judas Thomas that actually died, and that they were identical twins. There is a lot of real mystery surrounding this Jesus, and what really happened. The main reason is that not one single Historian ever wrote about him during his lifetime, All writings came quite a few years later, even the gospels at their earliest suggested date of writing were in the later 50's all the way up to the first part of the second century. The first istorian to mention hiim didn't write until around 90ad. So most of the real story of Jesus is lost to us forever.

  How many countries are JWs banned in?

  looking at some older branch letters in the kms i noticed this one from april 1977, which makes the claim that it is to be expected that opposition will increase.

  in 1977 the number of countries that banned jws stood at 40. according to the latest yearbook, 28 'other lands' (which used to mean lands where reporting was restricted) were at the end of the report.

  does this mean that things are, the deeper we get into the 'time of the end', actually getting better?.

  What I find interesting is that the "Free" nations like France have considered banning them, or at least not giving them recognition.

  i have noticed that a lot of you here quote references of history from scripture, so my question is this.

  if you say that the bible is not the true word of god then how can it even be a true word of history.

  Actually as far a historically acurate, the bible is not fully reliable. Many such tales as the Flood, the hebrew bondage in egypt, the amount of time man has been on earth, the Philistenes first apperence in Cannan/Israel, the list can go on and on and on, are all very much out of step with secular history. Now if you want to talk about places, yes it has been shown to be very accurate, but on the note of events it's quite inacurate.

  ok in another thread found here i found here http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/55200/1.ashx it references some articles by roberta moore, whos children were killed and she is blaming the wts (and i don't doubt it at all), you can read about it in that thread and corresponding links.

  now as much as i feel for this person, because i know, this cult is responsable for countless deaths all over the world be it from suicide, "persicution", the blood issue and the list goes on.

  i wonder if these pictures are for real in what she is claiming or can we go to any picture and find hidden symbols that are just the way the picture was drawn, with no real meaning at all.

  That was the way I felt, I really doubt these were incorperated on purpose, possible but not really likely. I find enough information on the WTS without having to wear my eyes out trying to pick strange objects out of a picture.

  i have read here in some posts that one of the new releases this year is a brochure, "look!

  the beautiful country!

  ", containing maps.. when it was released, does anyone know if the speaker mentioned how much better the maps in the brochure were than "worldly maps"?.

  Most JWs (and most people) in general couldn't find their own city on the map. I remember a test done in the last few years where college students in Miami were asked to find Florida on the map. It was embarrassing how many could not find it.

  Show me a map of Guam I'll show you my house LOL, Now to find Guam on a map is pretty hard though, it's so small you need a magnifying glass to find the little speck
