A offense against all involved?
by DJK ini have heard it on this forum that victims are sometimes considered an offender.
i did believe it, just never wanted to hear my father say or agree with it.
now i'm angry.i e-mailed him the trial results from california last week and this is his reply.

Hmmm... "a lot of studying." In the light of the Sept. 07 Question Box, etc. I can pretty much tell what this school was, based on these comments: It was a weeklong course on how to use the WTS's literature, and ONLY the WTS literaure, to research questions.
That's it. "WE (WTS) have all the answers and we'll show you how to find them."
Just more demonizing of researching anything outside Witness literature. I can imagine the strong discouragement that would have been made of researching on the Internet or any other place besides the WTS CD. The WTS's greatest fear is the open debate of ideas and free and full access to information. The elder's school, I would be willing to say, was just one more attempt to keep the rank and file from any outside influence, research or information. Anyone else hear anything?

new initiative
by Lizzie inim new to the site, was brought up in 'the truth' but stopped going about three years ago.
my dad has been an elder all my life and as far as elders go he is one of the most 'normal' if you know what i mean.
anyway him and his best friend who is also an elder were suddenly removed last month for attending their daughters weddings (both were baptised but stopped going around 5years ago but werent ever disfellowshipped).

Hmm...This is new to me. Is the GB coming down on the organization even harder? Got the POs attending elder schools where they are taught how to research just WTS info.
Now this.
If the GB is cracking down like this, there's going to be some serious fallout. What father, elder or not, is going to put up with this shit?? Only the braindead, and I think there is going to be a reaction.

I think the animosity was that they were very similar men. They were scam artists offering grand promises in exchange for money. As Plainview said, he hated people in general, and I think he hated Sunday even more so because Sunday was the most despicable kind of man - pretending to speak for god as he fleeced the sheep, and knowing that he was a liar all along.
Each could see themselves in the other, and despised what they saw. In the end they really destroyed each other. It would seem that this was one murder Plainview would not get away with.

I agree with Terry's assessment of why the WTS is petrified of the Internet. Open access to information is terrifying to them.
I'm not sure about the disinformation idea. Not very WTSish.
I do agree that disgruntled elders are great apostate material. I was one! But I don't know of any of us who have slunk back to the WTS with our tails tucked. It's hard to undo apostate thinking. It's like asking someone to become a child again.

I think if a really important announcement was going to be made it would have been leaked on here already - probably months ago. Anyone check the archives yet? It was such a big deal that we probably all forgot!
Sunday announcements are always anti-climatic. Do you remember the big one they built up to and it was that all those with 30 years in the WTS would be able to go to the annual meeting or something like that?
Only the WTS would think inviting the friends to YET ANOTHER meeting would be a big deal!
What do you think it is Randy?
