I have done this exactly as quoted more than once. I ask elder if it's better to hide serious sin or reveal, of course we know the answer. Then I ask them to explain elders book page 38 paragraph 19, which say it's sometimes ok for elder who has committed immorality and has kept it secret to continue serving as elder. The crazy thing is that it says if there is evidence of Gods blessing on his life, I just can't comprehend how they equate hiding immorality and blessing in same paragraph. I spoke to elder about their internal elders book and he said there is nothing in ther that wouldn't be in WT mag , I said bull. I was speaking on ph with him when I said turn to page 38 and read para 19, he did then I reasoned with him that I don't think a publisher would be on microphones or book counter next meeting if they hid immorality ,yet mr elder may have served on Judical committees against publishers of lesser crimes .Also I said you have got more chance of walking on water than that paragraph appearing in WT mag. To be honest one elder didn't even know it was in there, I suggest he get his wife's opinion of it.

I need more faith so I've been told
by hoser ini attended the circus assembly last weekend and i have come to the conclusion i am lacking faith.
the opening talk on the program, the very first words that came out of the speakers mouth told me so.
he said most of us here are lacking faith even though we might not know it.

Maybe they're going to release a publisher per hall ratio Te deceive increase. But so true when they ask people to travel ,some are going to understand its only the money. We met at old assembly hall for our regular meeting and when they wanted to renovate or have large assemblies we as publishers were told to pissoff down the road 12 mile ( 20 km for rest of world). Of course I didn't travel and that was only temporary arrangement , to ask elderly and poor to travel long distances at night or in winter is just another nail in some publishers coffin.

Contradictory Information on the Life of Geoffrey Jackson
by Wild_Thing inin geoffrey jackson's autobiography published in in the watchtower, he states that him and his wife went to serve as missionaries on the island nation of tulavu in 1979, and there were only 3 baptized witnesses in all of tulavu, and he translated all of the witness literature into the tuvaluan language in 1980, printing it right there on the island.
the article says they served as missionaries there until 1985 when they were assigned to the samoa branch.. .
in july, 2008, the watchtower society penned a letter to the un human rights council about the treatment of jws in tuvalu.

Geoffrey Jackson apostatised the JW church when he said it "would be presumptuous to think JW only chanel." I would love to see them all in front of royal commission ,it's like the before a judicial committee. Karma.

interesting question
by jayjay78 infirstly i'm a df'd witness.. i was in the org all my life.. vividly remember out witnessing as a kid in the 80s with my mum and having apostates jumping houses before we could get to them ..all the way up the street.. remember it because the guy looked like tom baker from dr who - frizzy hair and long colourful scarf.. i think the people at the doors were made more curious by them actually, so when we knocked ,they were inclined to have a listen.. anyway i'm out and cant see myself ever going back, because my family has fully shunned me..and even if i was to go back and be a member..i don't think i could forgive them...totally scarred me.. anyway my question is :.
if you were head of this religion and you wanted to keep it clean and pure etc..how would you deal with people who delib broke the rules?.
no shunning of course..but whats the alternative?

Water finds its own level. If a religion promotes a clean life and you belong to it and live contrary lifestyle you are not going to have much in common unless you've got a partner in crime at church or KH. Your not going to promote charity if your a selfish bastard.

Can GB be guilty of sinning against Holy Spirit
by Chook inthe crime is ,condoning the removal of and shunning of jw children ,who when older want to express freedom of religion and attend another church.
god created family unit ,gb destroys lives on all levels of family tree.
can this be the unforgivable sin?.

Why start preaching work in 1876? Something to ask JW's who are still in
by fedup inwe learn from the bible that the characters that preached doomsday messages, such as lot, noah, etc all got to see the result of the message they preached, we studied that the final judgement from god was seen by the preacher as well as the people that heard and ignored the message.
my point is this, it would have been ridiculous for noah to start preaching to people, put the fear of god in all the listeners that the flood is coming, build the ark and then as a result, nothing happens to them.
even if the flood would have happened later, let's say 50 years after noah and all the people that heard him have died from natural causes.

I ask an elder in field service one day that a house holder said we have cried wolf for so many decades how can we be believed. Then I thought even a broken clock is right twice a day. Just because they seem right twice a century does mean their clock is working.

By Way of Announcement, Darlene Jefferson Has Been Disfellowshiped
by Cold Steel ini was watching a jw video where the announcement was made of a young lady's being disfellowshiped, and it happened in a regular kh sunday meeting.
this struck me as being a bit...cold.
is this when the shunning begins?
-
Chook
It's usually announced mid week meeting, yes shunning begins that day, the ones who show up for announcement believe this shows repentance for quicker return. I just can't get my head around how WT headquarters equates this embarrassment to love. WT needs to be sued for non compliance of freedom of religion.
