Which Kingdom Hall Should They Sell? How Does The Governing Body Decide?
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell what rule of thumb do you think these financial dim-wits dream up?
i think those not sending in their money to the org are some of the first properties to unload while you spare the higher payers for last.
you don't want to piss off the loyal contributers by making them miss meetings,, that's a no win situation so dump the free loaders as a negative asset and keep the more profitable ones.. and those who's loans the wt forgave, watch what happens if you're not send in those regular payments like before, and slack off by a significant amount.

Impact of NWT
by menrov inhi all, just recently i was thinking about the period of my study and eventual baptism as jw.
it took many years, i guess in all about 10 years.
various times i stopped the study but after a while it started again.

They would consider it rebellion not to use NWT, your chances of baptism would be a big no, even though in old times they used king James . The Hebrew and Greek scholars at Warick have only endorsed the NWT of scripture. It's all about the grand magic trick , create a religion, create bible, create a unique language, have leaders that communicate with god then out comes the white rabbit out of Tony Morris pants.

Does becoming (or remaining) one of Jehovah's Witnesses result in Poverty? Pew Research results differ from Watchtower claims.
by Balaamsass2 in"raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.
sounded good.. what is the reality?
how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.

It boils down to what value you put on time , because Jw church takes a LOT of irredeemable time

Are Jehovah`s Witnesses of today, aware, or even care about their early history of the 1800`s ?
by smiddy inin the 1960`s when i was a new convert , a 20 year old , i devoured the book "jehovahs witnesses in the divine purpose" outlining the early history of the restoration of true christianity in the world.it helped to convince me then that this was indeed the true religion......not that i remember much of the details it contained nowadays .. i understand there was a poor attempt to mimic it with the " proclaimers " book a much sanitized version of the early history of the jw religion.
what reputable organization in the world ,secular ,religious or otherwise ,doctors their own early history/ beginnings unless they have something to hide or are ashamed of.. how many jw`s today would know that they were formed as the " international bible students association" in the late 1800`s , or that their first president of that association was none other than w.h.conley ,and not c.t.russell.. does it even matter ?
does anybody really care ?.

what are your thoughts on this quote from the elders book?
by aboveusonlysky in'in order to extend mercy, the committee must be convinced that the wrongdoer has a changed heart condition and that he has a zeal to right the wrong and is absolutely determined to avoid it in the future.'.
shepherd the flock page 91. i remember this is one of the first things that concerned me as an elder because it seemed to sound like a person is guilty until proven innocent rather than 'love believes all things', especially given the word 'convinced' appears in bold.. then in a training video one elder said something like 'unless we are convinced of repentance the shepherd the flock book says we must disfellowship'.
that was the begining of the end for me as i thought surely true christians would reason the other way round and show mercy wherever possible.. any thoughts?.

Imagine a court of law where they chose judges from window cleaners and painters, well that is where the lord is looking to recruit the wise men who have a predisposition against facial hair, tight pants and not enough publishing hours. Then they tell the poor person they need to know if they orgasmed during that sinful touch or you didn't scream when that man had a knife to your throat while he was raping you. So now our divine direction has revealed to us you won't burn in hell, you will only be in Gehenna w because of our decision is binding with god.
Then they reveal that they are the future princes of the earth. I can I live there please

Crisis of Conscience Raymond Franz
by Disassociated Lady 2 inthis book has been recommended to me a few times.
is it worth reading?.
how could i get a copy without paying the massive amount stated on amazon and ebay?

Just like when the mediaeval priests didn't allow the parishioners to read the Bible this is the modern version of that with the governing body mot wanting the publisher to read crisis of conscience . Power is knowledge. When most JWs think the men in Brooklyn are guided by God but in reality it's a democratic process which they need to get 66% vote

The Jw elders would be better suited to judge in an era that they drowned witches. The whole Jw judicial system is about connections, the only way to survive is to be in the know. Just like in elders book page 38 para 19 an elder can commit immorality and still keep job as elder, they sit on a judgement throne that doesn't apply to them.

Appealing a DF decision
by HereIgo ini always found it interesting that one could appeal a disfellowshipping....if jehovah doesn't make mistakes, then there wouldnt be a need to "appeal" anything to begin with right?.

Any court that allows an appeal yet won't allow a recording is called a kangaroo court. If Ray Franz and his well written appeal failed what hope has a teenager got.
