That we preached to families about happy family life , when I know a lot of them were more content and happier than jws.

They aren't appointed by Holy Spirit, they are appointed by CO. If they were appointed by Holy Spirit the elders wouldn't have to ask have they got any secret sins. The whole idea of some invisible force is equivalent to the tooth fairy.

Zero Holy Spirit , 100% CO is God on earth, he is the corporate representative who has as much power as old DO, To say they discern Holy Spirit is like saying you can see ghosts . If appointments are by Holy Spirit there would be no reason for elders to ask ALL new appointments if they have any secret sins.

According to one JW there can only be 1 of 3 reasons why you left.
by Bonsai ini asked an old jw friend of mine why so many baptized individuals leave the jw religion.
"did it ever occur to you, old friend, that maybe they know something that you don't know and have valid reasons for leaving?
", i asked.. his response set me back for an answer.

My problem lies with the whole concept that they called it the " truth" . I believed it was the truth. Once I established that it wasn't 100% truth, then I knew they couldn't be called " in the truth". To me it became a percentage game if Catholics were 50% , Quaker 40% and JW 75% . I came to conclusion that God is not in agreement with a religion that persists with at a minimum 25% family destroying bullshit. In a court case if a witness lies 25% of time then they are concidered an unreliable witness and ALL their statements have to be disregarded. No judge in an earthly court would conclude that their words are reliable.

Qisme , your sister is cult affected, when someone is shunned for religious grounds is no different from someone killed for religious reasons. The one who is proactive for a religious cause will honestly think they are on a divine mission. When such thoughts are embedded on their mind there is little you can do until they see for themselves the bigger picture.

As humans we are always trying to read people, especially people who are new to our lives, everyone thinks they are a good judge of character. We read people's posts on here and look at their emoji and in our minds we try and read people. We say to ourselves that person is nice , that person is crazy, that person is different, then we feel sorry for that poor person who has been abused. As humans it's easy to become little judges, my thoughts on matters is that everyone is a little crazy. If someone says that such and such is not a little crazy ,my response is they haven't spent enough time with such ones. We all reward loyalty. Life is very short ,we need to go out of our comfort zone and embrace different people because deep down most people all want same things.

What all JW parents put their children through IS child abuse, no wordly friends, no sports, meetings, door knocking, birthdays, all holiday celebrating, no playing with guns swords , no hunting ( I don't know how they think their steak got on dinner plate without a violent ending ) The problem with JWs is that the word NO is constantly before them just like the kid in the drama who couldn't even play the bloody violin without some twisted scripture.

Why Marrying An Outsider Is NOT A Disfellowshipping "Offense"
by Divergent inso yeah, i was thinking about this.
marrying an unbeliever is considered to be wrong, but at the same time, it is not a disfellowshipping "offense".
well, the reason is simple: there is more to gain than to lose by not disfellowshipping.

It might not be a DF offence but it certainly doesn't provide an environment where our dear sister get an invitation to local elders place for dinner with her pagan husband.
