I would imagine you would have to be disfellowshiped for quite awhile and stopped going to meetings..

Checking Up On Disfellowshipped Ones
by Boredposter inif my memory serves me right in the 80's there was an effort to call on those who were disfellowshipped.
elders would seek them out (or we're supposed to) to see if there was anything they could do to help them come back.
it seemed like a good idea at the time to me.

"Slaving For Jehovah Is Great, Because Your Life Won't Go Wrong." Sigh...
by Sorry ingranted, i'm a pimo status, so i normally just play on my cell phone and ignore everything during meetings and assemblies.
but at the assembly this past weekend, my ears were pricked for two experiences of two sisters dedicating themselves to pioneering.
this was probably because i was extremely freaked out by both of them.

I was wondering what PIMO ment also. I remember back in the day how everyone thought the social media myspace was a bad thing and they talked about it at the convention. But Facebook is ok and everyone even the org has one. I almost went to my cousins baptism a few months ago and everyone got all mad because I "missed out on a important event in my cousins life and I complain I don't get invited enough to family stuff"

Was It Really Mental Illness or Was It The Demons?
by minimus inwe supposedly had more than a few “demonized” people in our congregation.
they would hear voices or feel internal punishment within their souls.
the answer was always—-these people were affected by the demons and they needed counseling!.

Some thing might be wrong with my mom.. She was disfellowshiped 3 times and I feel it made her very bitter. I don't think her family ever approved of her marrying my dad. She got pregnant while still in high school with my oldest brother. When she was DFed she was running around alot with worldly guys she worked with.. My mom wasn't bad looking but she had 4 kids including myself so most likely wasn't having any more with another man. -

Family events (getting old)
by Jayk inthe feeling of being disconnected from my family for so long makes me feel old.
i think it's because the people i saw all the time when i was younger i don't see to often and you really notice that change in little bits but over time it really shows.
the last time alot of witness friends i was 16, then i show up at a family event and i'm 28. that's life and i do get it but it really makes me feel old..

A few cousins who went from 5 to 15 really fast. I try to figure out which of my cousins are the bad ones because a few are under 21 but will drink at family parties. The first time I drank was probably 12-13 at a bar in Mexico where the bartender severed me alcohal. Family/friend/witness trips to good ole rocky point we took quiet often..witnesses get in trouble at the hall all the time when they got back. I heard stories from my fathers gen When they where kids going to mexico in the 70s and 80s. -

Another reason Watchtower may be hurting financially
by shepherdless ini don't think anyone else has raised this point.
below i set out the case that the jw demographic in usa has a steadily decreasing combined income, and as a consequence, has less money to donate.
not only is the flock not growing, the flock is producing less wool for the borg to fleece.

I know a couple very wealthy witness families.. I would be very interested to see how much they contribute..the kids all go to separate halls which I could sell elders trying to spread the wealth around. -

Can some one please explain Deuteronomy 23:12-13
by Jayk inat a bible study when i was younger i read this scripture out loud and totally did with a straight face realising what they were talking about halfway through it.
i think i start reading in verse 12 "when evening falls, he should wash with water, and then he may return to the camp at sunset.+ 12 a private place* should be designated for use outside the camp, and there is where you should go.
13 a peg should be part of your equipment.

I was wondering about the toilet paper issue was. Originally I thought that might be what the peg is also used for..

James mixon I have a friend who is first generation Vietnamese. His little brother started screwing off so his mom shipped him back to Vietnam for 2 years to live without electricity or Plumbing. Ironically enough when my friends mom moved here so her boys would have a better life. They got a baby sitter who was a JW and she was crazy from what my friend tells me. But he was raised a witness also because the baby sitter would bring him and his brothers to meetings. I could only imagine the state of Vietnam during the war if my buddys brother was only shipped back a few years ago. -

Either with worldly friends/non disfellowshipped witnesses and ones that are witness only. I'll make my rounds at parties and say hello to mostly family. But then I'll sit down and enjoy the party and see who goes out of there way to talk to me. It's nice to see some of the people who you wouldn't expect come say hi and wanna know what I been up to.
