Given your benchmarks, and IF this data could be used as as a qualitative barameter and not the quantitative one that it is, it would be more appropriate to compare the ratio of Jesus/Jehovah. As long as you were consistent from year to year in your search criteria, one would derive the following:
2010-12 | 6.08% | ||
2000s | 5.21% | ||
1990s | 6.41% | ||
1980s | 8.30% | ||
1970s | 11.26% |
So, while there HAS been a decline in the ratio of references of Jesus to Jehovah in the annual yearbooks and his honorable mentions represent a 50% reduction of what it had been in the 70's, the trend for this decade is showing a slight improvement (or WTS error - not sure).
Once this thread's analysis has been completed, I'm sure the Yearbook Committee will make the appropriate "adjustments."
