I gave my statistical opinion on an assertion JW Gonebad was making about the Yearbook publication and what his data reflected.
I do know that a more appropriate statistical representation of his data would be a comparison of the ratio of references to Jesus to references to Jehovah and that using HIS data, the statistical representation of HIS data supports his claim.
The rest of each of your assertions could only serve as additional information for me.

Reference to our Lord Jesus Christ in WT literature has been on the wane for a really long time. The Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses, as an example, which is printed annually to report on the ‘Christian’ ministry of the JW’s worldwide reflects a gigantic deficit on the emphasis placed on Jesus as opposed to Jehovah :
On the wane?... well, yeah... looking at the ensuing years from the 70's the ratio has been on the decline... we need 8 more years of data to support another drop.
Gigantic deficit?... well, 50% from the earliest recorded decade is statistically significant.
Now, you are absolutely correct that the data may be in error... but now that I think about it, it's PROPORTIONATELY erroneous.
If JW Gonebad wants to, s/he can rerun the numbers to improve his/her quantitative analysis by removing "Jehovah's Witnesses" (and any other parallel references like "Jehovah's Christian Congregation? ... not sure) from the criteria.

SO, perhaps we need to modify EdenOne's calculation slightly by reducing the number of honorable mentions of "Jehovah" by the combo "Jehovah's Witnesses".

Edit: And we don't need to know how often Jesus *should* be mentioned. The poster's concerns were related to a reduction in mentions so therefore the WTS can be used as a barometer against itself.

they have moved about eight mentions of Jesus' presence (Matt 24 and 25) from having occurred in 1914 to the future.

Given your benchmarks, and IF this data could be used as as a qualitative barameter and not the quantitative one that it is, it would be more appropriate to compare the ratio of Jesus/Jehovah. As long as you were consistent from year to year in your search criteria, one would derive the following:
2010-12 | 6.08% | ||
2000s | 5.21% | ||
1990s | 6.41% | ||
1980s | 8.30% | ||
1970s | 11.26% |
So, while there HAS been a decline in the ratio of references of Jesus to Jehovah in the annual yearbooks and his honorable mentions represent a 50% reduction of what it had been in the 70's, the trend for this decade is showing a slight improvement (or WTS error - not sure).
Once this thread's analysis has been completed, I'm sure the Yearbook Committee will make the appropriate "adjustments."

Please know that my op was not meant to tout one group over another.
I had mentioned to a JW friend that there were active elders and ministerial servants that contributed to this forum and that, by observation, many individuals, elder or otherwise, may not have had that ridiculous label of "apostate". In unbelief, I was asked to produce a post of an elder. I couldn't find an introductory post fast enough before the request was retracted.
It was then that I realized that the person who had been raped or abused as a child, the person who lost all family/friends, and even the suicide mattered to him (I shared Oompa's story). It was ALL about the words of an elder.
Sickened me too. Given my very limited experience with one JW, I am just hoping stories like this will only serve to strengthen the chance for people like him to see what's really going on.
