Nothing shouts "cult" quite like being afraid of being yourself with your own family!
I'm seeing that more and more amongst my JW friends who are, I believe, more honest with me than they are with their own kin.

They have to vote on it first.
Edit: That reads like I'm making an announcement. I have no idea... just a guess.

WT for this Sunday...You are My Witnesses
by Legacy inwt 7/15/2014....page 27...question # 17...what will we consider in the next article...paragraph 17...but how can we be jehovah witnesses and at the same time be witnesses of jesus....well well well...i think they really got the point...all through the greek scriptures, that's what jesus has been saying...we are to witness about him....in the hebrews scriptures was about jehovah god, most of the world got that.
now jehovah, put another spoke in the wheel his son...jesus...that's who paul has been talking about all along...that he was witness of jesus, paul knew who god was.
i think the society monitors sites like these & others & found out....they may have been, uh...wrong....wonder how are they going to spin this one off....i won't read the next article just yet... comments anyone ..... legacy.

JW07 says, "Only 'apostates' will be hording literature at home."
But doesn't it feel good to know it will be preserved on a hard drive or in a cloud? Now you have garage space!
OH, how some on this board will envy those that are "in" for the literature grab. How much do ya' think that Trinity Brochure will go for in 10 years?

Oh... sloppy... I had a conversation with an elder on Romans 6. He focused on verse 23. I asked him to show me where, in the chapter, Paul spoke of a physical death and not the death of sin at the point of baptism. He couldn't.
Ask her why, in the WDTBRT book James 1:13 is about God's will on page 10 and man's will on page 29.
How about... why, on the same page of the WDTBRT book, there's a sentence that says God is NEVER the source of wickedness you see in the world? Can that be reconciled with Proverbs 16:4, Isaiah 45:7, Exodus 4:11, Eccl 7:14, Amos 3:6, 1 Peter 4:19 and the point of the story of the potter as told in the Old and New Testaments? Go to Romans 9:10-25 and focus on verses 18-23. What do we do with THAT truth? Was Jeremiah lamenting Satan's activities in Lamentations (look at chapter 2) or the hurt caused by the Lord's wrath?
Who brought the Great Flood?... (I suspect she'll tell you THOSE people were evil!)
Who killed the 70,000? Were THEY all evil? Did those events "happen" or were those events "caused" by the Lord?
If you set the trigger correctly, you'll hear about "the churches" saying "a death is God's will"... ask what the WTS does with James 4:15 and to ask if "this or that" is scripturally defined. If it is, I want to avoid that activity.

how many normal people would only go to the dub website?
by purrpurr inall this campaign going on got me to thinking, a normal person having received a tract about the jw website, would they only go to that one website if they were in any way interested?
would they really not click on any links that would also appear about jw's?
would they really not read about them from other sources too?.

Wow... Kairos. That really puts it into perspective. If 8,000,000 witnesses placed a tract each (as in one for the entire month), we're talking a success rate for personal visit requests of .045%?
With more than one tract per adherent disseminated, that incredible success rate diminishes exponentially. I feel so sorry for those that I care about right now.
Anybody know the average number of tracts typically disseminated per person?

...."the majority of those who receieved tracts will not go to the website"
I'll take it further. The only conceivable reason I could see a non-jw going to the website would be to understand why someone in their social sphere who IS a JW operates a certain way. ...so as not to offend them.
People who are disinterested in religion, are definitely disinterested in a religion that requires a lot of effort.
People who are interested in religion are probably already involved in their own faiths. As a JW, if a Mormon had left you a tract with their website address would you have been running to your computer to check it out?
People who are entertained by religion might go but they'd only be there for the entertainment.
Mass conversions? Ain't gonna happen...
I do not believe that this campaign has anything to do with the conversion of non-jws. I believe the goal is to promote that feeling of purpose amongst the adherents. Keep em busy fulfilling a purpose and they'll feel good about paying for that feeling through their donations.
